Six Nations 2024: Wales number eight aims to avoid 'embarrassing' Wooden Spoon

Number eight Aaron Wainwright says Wales must aim to avoid an "embarrassing" Six Nations Wooden Spoon by beating Italy in Cardiff on Saturday.

Wales have lost four games so far and are looking to avoid a clean sweep of defeats for the first time since 2003.

When asked how desperate he would be to avoid having a Wooden Spoon on his resume, Wainwright replied: "It would be embarrassing.

"We can't afford tomorrow to go out and lose. Massive respect to the Italian team for what they've done so far in the tournament, but we are definitely looking to go out there and win tomorrow and finish the campaign on a high".
