Alex Thomson: British sailor will bid to win Vendee Globe in 2020

British sailor Alex Thomson has confirmed he will bid again to win the Vendee Globe round the world race in 2020.

Thomson, from Gosport in Hampshire, finished a close second to Frenchman Armel Le Cleac'h in January.

"I was third last time, I came second this time, so there's only one way to go isn't there?" he told BBC South Today.
