US Open 2013: Dan Evans puts win down to maturity
British qualifier Dan Evans says his shock 6-4 6-4 6-2 victory over 11th seed Kei Nishikori, on the opening day at the US Open, is down to a new found maturity and better preparation.
The 23-year-old from Birmingham, playing in his first Grand Slam main draw away from Wimbledon, hopes he can continue to feature in the big tournaments.
The world number 179 will now face Australian Bernard Tomic in the second round at Flushing Meadows.
