  2. Will these sides meet again in October?published at 21:31 British Summer Time

There's a long way to go yet but if the two teams we watched tonight were to meet in the World Series in October it wouldn't be too big a surprise.

The Brewers are still in great shape in the National League Central while the Blue Jays have consolidated their lead in the American League East.

  3. BLUE JAYS WIN!published at 21:23 British Summer Time

The Blue Jays get it done as William Contreras grounds out and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finishes the job at first.

A big big win for the Blue Jays.

  4. Replay review!published at 21:20 British Summer Time

    Now then, is it over?

The Blue Jays challenge a call at first base as Christian Yelich is called in. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. thinks it's out. It's definitely close.

No, he's safe. The Brewers have men on the corners too after Jackson Chourio hit a double earlier in the inning.

  5. Hoffman in for Blue Jayspublished at 21:14 British Summer Time

An interesting pitching change for the Blue Jays here. Jeff Hoffman is in for Seranthony Dominguez.

Hoffman gave up the crucial run in the ninth inning last night as the Brewers won it 4-1.

Can he make up for it tonight?

  6. Blue Jays still four clearpublished at 21:12 British Summer Time

Rob Zastryzny is in as the new pitcher for the Brewers.

He walks Vladimir Guerrero Jr. but is otherwise comfortable in the bottom of the eighth.

But it's now or never for the Brewers, and they need four runs in the ninth inning to keep this going.

  8. Solid inning for Dominguezpublished at 21:02 British Summer Time

Blue Jays relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez replaces Varland on the mound.

He gets the job done with three crucial outs and the Brewers have just three batters left to try and mount an unlikely comeback in Toronto.

  9. Brewers stay in itpublished at 20:58 British Summer Time

Another quiet inning as Gimenez, Heineman and Springer are out for the Blue Jays.

The Brewers need to get moving in these next two innings otherwise they are going to miss out on the sweep.

  10. Seventh inning stretchpublished at 20:47 British Summer Time

Three up, three down for the Brewers. We're into the seven-inning stretch.

  11. No joy for either side in sixthpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time

Louis Varland replaces Tommy Nance as the Blue Jays pitcher with one man out and one man on base in the sixth inning.

Varland immediately strikes out Brice Turang and Jackson Chourio to keep it at 8-4.

Despite a Nathan Lukes single the Blue Jays are then unable to extend their lead as we head to the seventh.

  12. Another two runs scorepublished at 20:18 British Summer Time

Now the Blue Jays are cooking!

Myles Straw singles on a groundball to centre field and both Gimenez and Heineman score.

The Blue Jays lead it 8-4 with the bottom of the batting order delivering huge insurance runs.

The Brewers are making a pitching change with Woodruff finally taken out for Tobias Myers after giving up 10 hits and eight runs.

Myers manages to close out the inning.

  13. Blue Jays extend leadpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time

Quick singles for Ernie Clement and Andres Gimenez at the bottom of the fifth give the Blue Jays a platform to go further ahead.

Tyler Heineman then jumps on a fast ball and launches it out into centre field for a double to score Clement.

  15. Blue Jays get out of troublepublished at 20:08 British Summer Time

Tommy Nance replaces Little for the Blue Jays and gets two massive outs to save the day and preserve his team's lead.

He starts with a strikeout of Andrew Vaughn before forcing Isaac Collins into an out at first base.

The Brewers leave three runners stranded and fail to make any runs despite having the bases loaded with no outs earlier in the inning.

How important will that escape be for the Blue Jays?

  16. Bases loaded for the Brewerspublished at 20:01 British Summer Time

Brendon Little replaces Max Scherzer as the Blue Jays pitcher and is immediately in trouble.

The bases are loaded after he makes fielding errors which allow Christian Yelich and William Contreras to reach and load up the bases.

Little then makes a big play to get Jackson Chourio out at home but the bases are still loaded for the Brewers with just one out.

  17. Blue Jays back in frontpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finishes off a streak of three consecutive groundball singles at the bottom of the fourth and the Blue Jays re-take the lead!

George Springer scores from third for his second run of the afternoon to make it 5-4 to the Blue Jays.

  18. Halfway therepublished at 19:45 British Summer Time

The Blue Jays get out of trouble in the fourth with a good defensive play to get Andruw Monasterio out as he tries to steal home.

Still level at the halfway mark in Toronto.

  19. Post-season picturepublished at 19:37 British Summer Time

A reminder of where things stand in the post-season picture.

Both the Brewers and Blue Jays are on course to win their divisions and go straight through to the division series as things stand.

  20. Brewers score to make it 4-4!published at 19:23 British Summer Time

Jackson Chourio earns a strange double for the Brewers as Addison Barger fails to make a routine catch at right field when he loses the ball in the sun.

William Contreras then launches a fly ball to right field and it's off the wall for a double. Chourio scores and the Brewers tie it up.

The Blue Jays close the inning with a double play as Contreras is run out at third, but a good inning for the Brewers.
