Three consecutive strikeouts in the fourth for Scherzer.
He gets Wells, Volpe and McMahon out swinging after walking Chisholm Jr.
We stay at 4-3 after four.
Max Fried gets through the fourth inning despite an error from catcher Austin Wells that sees Nathan Lukes make it to second.
An important diving catch from Aaron Judge gets the third out to preserve the Yankees' lead.
This game is living up to the hype so far with the top two in the AL East really throwing everything at each other.
If the Yankees can keep this lead they will cut that Blue Jays advantage to just two games.
Scherzer walks Judge for the second time before the big man steals second base to get into scoring position.
Cody Bellinger then steps up with a RBI double off the wall. Judge scores for the Yankees and they lead 4-3.
Scherzer gets the outs of Ben Rice and Giancarlo Stanton after a mound visit. Will he come out for the fourth?
There's a reason they call him that. As you can see, he just keeps making hits when it matters.
Some very important damage limitation work from Max Fried and the Yankees as they manage to strand the two runners on base.
Anthony Volpe makes a big catch from Ernie Clement for the second out before Ty France grounds out to Ryan McMahon.
It's 3-3 half-way through the third at Yankee Stadium.
He's the man for the moment and he's delivered again!
Valdimir Guerrero rockets a line drive out to left field for a double.
Springer comes through to score and Schneider moves to third.
The Blue Jays level it up at 3-3 and with no outs and players in scoring position it could very quickly get better for them.
A double for George Springer at the top of the third, although it almost becomes a very strange out as he runs past the base and has to throw out a toe back onto the base to be safe.
The Blue Jays have the tying run in scoring position.
Davis Schneider then reaches first as Anthony Volpe misses a makeable out as he draws Ben Rice off first base with his throw.
Can the Blue Jays score here with Vladimir Guerrero at bat?
A cleaner inning from Max Scherzer in the second.
He strikes out Anthony Volpe and Ryan McMahon with venom to keep the Blue Jays within one.
We go to the third.
The Blue Jays are back in it immediately!
Ernie Clement's double puts two men in scoring position before Isiah Kiner-Falefa brings home the first run with a ground ball single to left field. Alejandro Kirk scores from third.
Nathan Lukes is then able to bring home the second run with a sacrifice fly from which Clement scores.
They have cut the deficit to 3-2 at the bottom of the second.
And you can now make that 23 home runs for the season for Ben Rice!
No surprise looking at that graphic that the Yankees have, by quite a distance, more home runs this season than any other side in MLB.
A tough start for Scherzer but he does manage to get the remaining outs of Giancarlo Stanton and Jazz Chisholm Jr.
The Blue Jays have a mountain to climb already.
Perfect start for the Yankees!
They have a three-run home run as Ben Rice arrows one out to right field.
Scherzer had walked Aaron Judge before Cody Bellinger dug out a single to left field.
All three men score and the Yankees lead it 3-0.
Fried makes a strong start for the Yankees with a little help from Ryan McMahon who makes a smart catch running down the steps of his own dugout for the first out.
Fried wraps up the inning quickly with two more outs.
Here we go then. It's Max Fried on the mound for the Yankees with George Springer at bat for the Blue Jays.
Bo Bichette limps away after clashing with Austin Wells at home plate on Saturday
The big news for the Blue Jays is Bo Bichette is out of this one. He took a heavy knock as he collided with Austin Wells trying to score at home plate in last night's game.
Bichette leads Major League Baseball with 181 hits this year and has the third best average of any player at .311.
Although he managed to finish the game, he is not in the line-up this afternoon with the Blue Jays making five changes to their line-up.
The Yankees make just one change with Giancarlo Stanton into the line-up replacing Jasson Dominguez.
Blue Jays: George Springer (RF), Davis Schneider (2B), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (DH), Alejandro Kirk (C), Ernie Clement (SS), Ty France (1B), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (3B), Nathan Lukes (LF), Myles Straw (CF)
Starting pitcher: Max Scherzer
Yankees: Todd Grisham (CF), Aaron Judge (RF), Cody Bellinger (LF), Ben Rice (1B), Giancarlo Stanton (DH), Jazz Chisholm Jr. (2B), Austin Wells (C), Anthony Volpe (SS), Ryan McMahon (3B)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Blue Jays and Ben Rice of the Yankees
The last game of this series could hardly be more significant after what has transpired already this weekend.
On Friday night the Blue Jays got off to a strong start, taking a 7-1 win in the opener as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. smashed a home run.
Last night the Yankees hit back, winning 3-1 in a tight and tense contest with the pitchers mostly on top.
After tonight the gap between the teams will either be four games or two games.

And welcome to our live coverage of the Toronto Blue Jays up against the New York Yankees!
Yes, there is another major event happening in town this afternoon with the US Open final taking place just across the East River at Flushing Meadows. But let's forget about Alcaraz v Sinner for now because this is a big one.
Can the Yankees close the gap at the top of the American League East or are the Blue Jays about to secure what would feel like a very healthy lead with just a few weeks left of the regular season?
Yankee Stadium awaits!
Venue: Yankee Stadium, The Bronx, New York
Date: Sunday, 7 September

Is this an American League East title-decider? It might just be.
The Blue Jays hold a three-game lead over the Yankees in the division heading into this weekend's series.
A series win would extend that lead further, making it increasingly difficult for the Yankees to catch up as the games run out at the end of the regular season on September 28.
A series win for the Yankees though means the race is right back on as they look to sneak ahead before the post-season.
Aaron Judge
Although both sides are in position to make it into the post-season there is significant value in winning the division.
The division-winner will very likely advance straight to the Division Series, effectively receiving a bye to avoid the three-game Wildcard Series which takes place immediately after the end of the regular season.
As things stand, the Blue Jays would go straight through while the Yankees would have to overcome the Boston Red Sox in the Wildcard.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
Yankees star-man Aaron Judge is enjoying another remarkable season, scoring 43 home runs and delivering the best batting average in the league at .322.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the main man for the Blue Jays. His 151 hits this season put him in the top ten for hits across all of Major League Baseball.
