Brad Pauls says he wants a rematch with Nathan Heaney after the pair drew their British middleweight title fight.

Pauls, 30, earned a split draw on Saturday as he failed to win for just the second time in his 20-fight professional career.

'The Newquay Bomb' felt he did enough to win the fight, which was the first to go 12 rounds in his career.

"It would make a lot of sense for the rematch," Pauls told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"It would make a lot more sense for me I feel like, but for Nathan I don't feel he would want the rematch. He's got so much to lose.

"We're trying to pull a few strings and force the rematch upon him, and if they offered me the rematch I'd take it in a heartbeat, so hopefully we can get it on.

"I just want the British title more than anything in the world and it was just there on Saturday night, so close, so a rematch would be amazing and I'm very confident I'd win."

Pauls says even if a rematch between himself and Heaney does not come off - the Stoke-on-Trent-based fighter is eyeing a bout at the home stadium of Stoke City - he hopes he has done enough to be asked back on to the shows of Heaney's promoter Frank Warren.

"I feel like my stock has risen after the fight," Pauls said.

"I feel like another opportunity on TV should come up, but you never know with boxing.

"I think if the fans like how I fight and they thought it was entertaining Frank should want to get me back on one of his shows, because I'll just do the same again."
