    Whittaker v Arenyeka

We're into the second half of this fight - 10 rounds are scheduled - will it make it to the final bell?

Arenyeka ducks and throws a right to the body but he's punished by a sniper right hook from Whittaker.

Whittaker is backed up on to the ropes and sees it as the perfect opportunity to showboat a little more, bobbing and weaving before patting Arenyeka on the top of the head.

A left to the body and a right to the temple has Arenyeka starting to back off. Whittaker puts his foot to the pedal for a moment.

    Great jabs there from Whittaker.

  3. Round fivepublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 15 June

    Whittaker v Arenyeka

Arenyeka is certainly trying to follow those orders but I think the suggestion Whittaker "won't know what's coming" is a bit naive.

The right hand is thrown and it's telegraphed, Whittaker steps away and digs in a left to the body.

There's definitely more output from Arenyeka but that's not saying much.

An uneventful round comes to an end.

Ezra Arenyeka has just been told between rounds by his trainer Anthony Farnell to throw his right over the top.

Farnell said "he won't know what's coming".

Let's see if he puts that into practice in this fifth round.

  5. Round fourpublished at 21:43 British Summer Time 15 June

    Whittaker v Arenyeka

Whittaker is starts to work the combinations now.

He had success to the body in round three and continues to target the torso.

Arenyeka lands with a glancing shot as Whittaker is a little slow to pull his head back.

But that's as good as it gets for the Nigerian.

As confident as Arenyeka is, this is a big step up for him. He would've been wondering when that ring walk hit.

I don't think anyone wants to lose the first two rounds, but when you've got 10 rounds, you can pull them back. It is not the end of the world.

  8. Round threepublished at 21:40 British Summer Time 15 June

    Whittaker v Arenyeka

Whittaker said at Thursday's news conference that he wanted to carry Arenyeka through three or four rounds and then punish him.

So far it looks like that's exactly what he's doing.

Whittaker is loosening up with each round that passes.

A right uppercut from Whittaker bounces off Arenyeka's gloves but the Brit follows with a straight left that lands cleanly.

Arenyeka is trying to shell up and walk Whittaker down but that gameplan isn't working.

Whittaker lands a body shot late in the round and Arenyeka looks hurt.

    Saved by the bell.

Whether you like how he does it or not, when you break it down, the skill of Whittaker's jabs are brilliant, especially with the speed of them.

    Whittaker v Arenyeka

Whittaker is toying with Arenyeka, throwing out the jab and diving out of range when traffic comes back the other way.

He's so slick with the movement.

This style tends to get under the skin of his opponents and they often end up leaving gaps for Whittaker to take advantage of.

    Comfortable for Whittaker so far.

    Whittaker v Arenyeka

Arenyeka has been promising to come out quickly against Whittaker but that's not how it gets going.

Whittaker immediately gets behind the jab, stabbing his right hand out time and time again.

The Surgeon is on the front foot and setting the tempo early.

Arenyeka fires a jab back the other way but Whittaker leans out the way, showing his lightning reactions.

An interesting end to the round as the two fighters both start showboating, a shuffle of the shoulders from Whittaker as Arenyeka drops his hands to his hips.

I always imagine that picking a nickname as a boxer must be a hugely stressful decision.

You've got to stick with that for your entire career otherwise it's a tad embarrassing when you make a u-turn and come up with something new.

It has to be at least a little menacing and also catchy... there's so much to think about!

There are some great nicknames on tonight's card with Chris 'The Gentleman' Billam-Smith, Richard 'The Midnight Train' Riakporhe, and Ben 'The Surgeon' Whittaker.

Where do they rank in the world of boxing?

There have been some crackers over the years. What is your favourite?

I also want to know what your boxing nickname would be too!

I'd have to go with Bobbie 'The Bobcat' Jackson.

Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom has been discussing Ben Whittaker's bout with Ezra Arenyeka for the vacant IBF international light heavyweight title.

"Ben Whittaker is a sliver medallist from the Olympic games in Tokyo who is highly-touted as the future face of the sport," Shalom told BBC Radio Solent.

"So for anyone who wants to be entertained tonight, this is a very special place to be."

This ringwalk might end up being longer than the fight if Whittaker delivers what he has been promising over the last few days.

It's almost time for the co-main event and Ezra Arenyeka has just made his way to ring.

Arenyeka's walk was understated enough but we're expecting big things from Ben Whittaker's ringwalk.
