That's all for another live text as we edge closer to Saturday's all-British affair between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn.

Despite a dramatic start to the day when news broke that Eubank had missed weight by 0.05lb - ultimately costing him £375,000 - the ceremonial weigh-in passed by without anything of real note.

I'm sure fight night will be much more exciting.

We'll be back with live text and radio commentary from 19:00 BST tomorrow on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app before switching to BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds at 21:30.

  2. 'A completely different animal now'published at 19:29 British Summer Time

In the build-up to their cancelled fight in October 2022, the rivalry between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn was based largely on their family names.

However, Eubank believes this rescheduled bout, which takes place almost 1,000 days after that first bout was announced, has been elevated to another level after Benn failed two drug tests.

  3. Benn 'bullying' sparring partnerspublished at 19:27 British Summer Time

Conor Benn kept his cool during Thursday's news conference, opting not to bite back at the jibes from Chris Eubank Jr.

Benn's father, Nigel, who has been by his side throughout camp and in every media event, did most of the talking.

Former two-weight world champion Benn played down suggestions that Eubank is the favourite and predicted the fight "won't go past four rounds".

The 61-year-old went on to praise Benn's preparations and claimed he had been "bullying" sparring partners, including undefeated IBF world super-middleweight champion William Scull, who fights Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez on 4 May.

"He couldn't take no more after eight rounds, he was meant to be doing 10 rounds," Benn said.

  4. 'Benn inside four rounds'published at 19:26 British Summer Time

Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom gave his prediction: "He [Eubank] is the better fighter and has been here before in the big nights. It will come down to to who can handle the pressure and who is the better boxer and that is Chris Eubank every day of the week. I cannot wait to put this to bed on Saturday night."

Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn added: "Chris is a great fighter. The IBO middleweight champion of the world couldn't make middleweight but that's okay.

"Conor Benn is ready, the swing and the mojo has switched and will continue to swing over the next 24 hours. You will see him chop down the tree tomorrow night in front of 65,000 people. I have never met someone who wants to win so bad.

"I thought six rounds, Conor says inside two rounds - let's split the difference and say Benn inside four rounds."

  5. Listen: Eddie and Barry Hearnpublished at 19:25 British Summer Time

The bout between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn is a family feud - their fathers met twice between 1990 and 1993, with Chris Eubank Sr winning the first encounter before the pair fought to a split draw in the rematch.

And why not stick with the family theme, eh?

Barry Hearn and son Eddie Hearn joined Steve Bunce on Thursday's podcast to talk over the rivalry.

Barry promoted the first showdown 35 years ago and now Eddie takes the lead as promoter for Saturday.

Maybe it's rose tinted glasses of my youth. But Chris Eubank Snr, Nigel Benn, Steve Collins. These guys were elite fighters and real entertainers with it. Chris Eubank Jnr has had a good career. The same can't really be said for Conor Benn who'd just got started before his hiatus from the ring. He still has plenty to prove and is under-sized in this contest. Feels very Jake Paul promotions-esque.

  7. Eubank Sr not present at Eubank-Benn weigh-inpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

A noticeable absentee is Chris Eubank Sr. He wasn't expected to be here today after refusing to be involved with this fight.

He is not expected to attend tomorrow's event. But Conor Benn had his father, Nigel, by his side.

Nigel Benn and Eubank Sr's famous rivalry was well over 30 years ago now!

  9. 'Weight has no relevance to tomorrow night'published at 19:18 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

Chris Eubank on failing to make weight: "It is what it is. If they are going to take half a million off me for being 0.05 pounds off the limit, that's the people that Eddie Hearn, Matchroom and Conor Benn are. Weights have no relevance to tomorrow night, I'm going to stop this guy.

"The rehydration clause is still in place so I have to watch what I eat and drink. These things are set up to displace me and get me off track. None of it will work.

"He [Benn] is in for a hell of a surprise and no idea of the pain that is in store for him tomorrow night."

On how the fight will play out: "The procedure will be parliamentary."

  10. 'I'm not scared or intimidated'published at 19:13 British Summer Time

    Eubank v Benn

Conor Benn on Chris Eubank failing to make weight: "It's an expensive price to pay, but he is disciplined and should have made the weight. He's made this weight his whole career - he was expecting a little bit of sympathy but he hasn't got any sympathy around here."

On his own weight: "156 is a weight I felt comfortable at. I'm going to use my speed, explosiveness and ferocity. That is not at 160."

On what he took from the final face-off: "I don't know if I was supposed to look scared or intimidated, but I'm not neither. I'm there to get the job done, get the stoppage and take his head clean off."

  11. Can Benn be explosive over 12 rounds?published at 19:09 British Summer Time

He might be a few pounds lighter than we expected, but Conor Benn is looking in terrific shape.

He looked sharp and explosive at the media workouts. But will he able to keep up the aggression and intensity over 12 rounds? And against a seasoned campaigner like Chris Eubank Jr who will be looking to slow him down?

    It’s a tough ask.

One last face-off for the bitter rivals.

Much like yesterday, there are so many security guards around them.

It's intense again but neither fighter steps over the mark - I'm not sure if they'd be able to.

Chris Eubank Jr looks super serious, almost emotionless.

    Time for the weights.

We've already heard plenty about them this morning but a reminder just in case you've missed anything.

Chris Eubank Jr weighs 11st 6.05lb - that is of course 0.05 above the middleweight limit.

Conor Benn, who has operated at welterweight for most of his career, comes in well under the limit at 11st 2lb.

There's a fan in the front row, refusing to look in Conor Benn's direction and just shaking his head side-to-side over and over again. Fair to say, he's not Team Benn.

Conor Benn is the first to be introduced by Michael Buffer.

He marches down the stairs and exchanges a few fist bumps with fans along the way.

The music is so loud that it's hard to know if he is being booed - maybe that was a tactic.

Conor Benn is standing at the top of a staircase, waiting to come down. He's stood there smiling as chants of "Eubank" are thrown in his direction.

It's a bit of a guess, but I'd say there are around 400 to 500 or so fans here.

Leading up to the fight I was 50-50, but if I had to pick someone I was picking [Chris] Eubank.

I've been where he has been in terms of making weight and I know how it affects you mentally- now I have [Conor] Benn to win inside six rounds.

    The fun never stops.

Chris Eubank Jr’s missed weight hampered the plans for any reporter hoping to get a few hours of downtime today.

When the Ring Magazine posted a video of Conor Benn making weight on their social channels, we eagerly awaited a clip of Eubank tipping the scales.

Alarm bells began to ring when more than an hour later there was no update. Eubank hadn’t even arrived yet. We wondered whether it might just be mind-games. Turns out, he was doing everything he could to shred that last bit of weight.
