The talk amongst the travelling press is how cold it is at night in Riyadh. You can take us out of Britain, but we'll still be making idle chat about the weather. Fortunately, yesterday's news conference was indoors, but we're back outside at Wonder Garden – a garden-themed amusement park.

Fury needs to gamble. 6 or 7 rounds of high intensity boxing. If Usyk gets through it, then Usyk may knock him out in the final 3 rounds.

So we were hoping to see Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on the scales at around 18:57 GMT but this isn't our first rodeo and we shouldn't be surprised to hear that time has already been pushed back.

They have just announced on the DAZN broadcast that the "fighters are late" and are caught in traffic.

There was no mention of what time we should expect them to arrive so you might as well get comfy.

  7. Steward suggests Fury's father won't be in cornerpublished at 18:15 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December

Tyson Fury has been doing everything within his power to put himself in a position to avenge his split-decision loss against Oleksandr Usyk in May.

One big call appears to be in regard to his father John Fury.

There was criticism about the chaotic nature of Fury's corner in his first encounter against Usyk, with his father John and both coaches SugarHill Steward and Andy Lee giving him instructions all at once.

Speaking at the open workouts on Wednesday, Steward appeared to confirm John would not return to the corner.

"Just myself [will be in the corner], Andy Lee and the cutman," Steward said. "Pretty much that's it."

Fury's assistant coach Lee said he did not know whether John would be involved while, earlier this month, promoter Frank Warren told BBC Sport he expected Fury Sr to be in the corner once again.

And it appears the former champion himself is even unsure as to what the situation will be.

"I don't know," said Tyson when asked about his dad's involvement. "I don't get involved in all that."

What are you making of this back and forth over Tyson Fury's beard?

Should he be made to shave it off? Is it just another part of Fury's attempt to play mindgames?

Drop me a message and let me know your thoughts!

Fury has said he is going to come in heavier. So much has been made of his conditioning in the past, it will be interesting to see what kind of shape he comes in. He has either been suited and booted or wearing baggy clothes so it's hard to tell how much weight he is carrying.

Tyson Fury has been on quite the journey with his weight during his 16-year boxing career - just look at the two images above!

He was 18st 6lb when he made his professional debut in 2008. A year later, in his fifth fight, he dropped to 18st.

    • Lowest weight: 17st 5lb v Vinny Maddalone, 2012
    • Heaviest weight: 19st 8lb v Francis Ngannou, 2023

Fury was 18st 7lb when he faced Oleksandr Usyk in May.

Many suggested that Fury's size would be a key factor against former undisputed cruiserweight world champion Usyk but the Briton was unable to make it count in their first meeting.

He has looked bigger during this fight week and could be heading back towards 19st in the hope of trying to gain an advantage this time around.

  14. Rival camps locked in dispute over replacement judgepublished at 17:58 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December

And it's not just beard drama.

Just a day before the highly-anticipated rematch between WBA (Super), WBO and WBC champion Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, their respective camps are locked in a dispute over a replacement official.

Fernando Barbosa was set to be one of the three judges on Saturday but he has not travelled to Riyadh due to illness.

Steve Weisfeld and Ignacio Robles have been flown in to replace Barbosa, however, the respective fighter teams are split on which judge should be used, with Queensberry promoter Frank Warren suggesting they should toss a coin to settle the deadlock.

"There are two standby judges, both of them are flying in and we've got to decide which one it's going to be," Warren told Sky Sports.

"We want one of them and the other camp wants the other, so I've suggested we spin a coin."

Hair we go... Beardgate drama is dominating today's headlines.

Tyson Fury has grown a bushy beard, which he says provides him added strength.

Beards usually need to be at a certain length on fight week. Stubble, for example, can further damage on a cut.

At a rules meeting today, the length of Fury's beard was cleared. Apparently, though, Usyk's team are contesting this.

    Usyk v Fury 2

We won't put you through the full 11 minutes and 20 seconds of yesterday's face-off, that would just be plain mean and a little boring.

Instead, we've got a nice condensed package of Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury fixing eyes on each other.

  18. Mind games and face offspublished at 17:46 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December

    Kal Sajad
BBC Sport at Wonder Garden, Riyadh

About a minute into that face-off yesterday I began to think I should have timed it. Fortunately, my colleagues were on it.

There are a lot of things you could do in 11 minutes and 20 seconds. I just sat there watching two boxers watch each other. It's a weird sport, at times.

Fury did not even look at Usyk when they went head-to-head in the news conference in the first fight week. I'm not sure how much we should read into mind games and face offs, but it certainly gave us something to talk about.

How are we all doing today?

We are 24 hours closer to the the main event and just the small matter of a couple of heavyweights hitting the scales this evening.

I'm still trying to get my head around yesterday's ridiculously long face-off - 11 minutes 20 seconds - if you are just catching up.

Now that Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury have had a good look at each other, let's hope today goes off smoothly and we can then turn our attention to fight night.
