In May, Tyson Fury suffered a first pro defeat to a guy who he had previously labelled a "blown up middleweight".

Oleksandr Usyk was perhaps seconds away from stopping Fury in the ninth round. So has the defeat humbled Fury?

    Seemingly not.

In a foul-mouthed social media outburst earlier this month, Fury told Usyk: "You are about to feel the wrath of the Gypsy King. Should of finished me when you had the chance. You had your shot but couldn't finish the job."

  2. Usyk v Fury 1 in picturespublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 23 October

As much as I was excited to see Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury go at it in May for the undisputed crown, I was anxious about whether the fight would live up to expectation.

Would it be a bore-fest? Would their styles match-up?

It was clear from round one that we were set for fireworks.

Fury came out strong before Usyk found his rhythm and eventually figured out the puzzle.

The referee gave Fury a standing count in the ninth round and the Briton went on to survive to the bell - even winning the final round.

Ultimately, Usyk prevailed via split-decision to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era.
