Guernsey record-holder Tom Druce has pulled out of the 200m at the 2014 Commonwealth Games with injury.

A hamstring problem saw the 27-year-old perform off his best as he went out of the 400m heats on Monday, prompting him to consider quitting athletics.

"We are very grateful for Tom's effort and support towards the team competing here in Glasgow, and in Delhi in 2010," chef de mission David Harry said.

"Our team wishes him a speedy recovery," Harry added.
