Derbyshire in profit despite relegation

Derbyshire have made a profit for a third successive season despite their relegation from Division One of the County Championship.
The club only made £3,395 in 2013 but chief executive Simon Storey said it was a success as they increased the playing budget by more than £200,000.
"The challenge to service that increase was significant," Storey said.
"Achieving this financial result is, therefore, testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved."

Storey said a third successive profit - no matter how small - shows Derbyshire are making progress, external towards "long-term sustainability".
