Australia one-day international Aaron Finch found his touch in first-class cricket as he hit his first century for County Championship leaders Yorkshire against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Yorkshire, 82-2 overnight, batted all day to reach 422 - a lead of 194-run over the battered Bears.

Finch came to the crease on 150-4 after overnight pair Alex Lees (64) and Andrew Gale (40) departed.

He then made 110, backed by Jonny Bairstow (68) and Rich Pyrah (62).

Playing only his fourth match for Yorkshire, the 27-year-old world number one Twenty20 batsman made only his third first-class century.

Hitting three sixes and nine fours in his 146-ball knock, the highlight of his innings was reaching three figures in a six-four-four bombardment in the space of four balls off Keith Barker.

Making his penultimate Championship appearance before New Zealander Kane Williamson returns to resume his role at Headingley, Finch shared stands of 92 with Bairstow and 123 with Pyrah.

England's Chris Woakes, who had picked up both Yorkshire wickets the evening before, added just one more scalp to end as the Bears' top performer with the ball, taking 3-81.
