Gloucestershire have signed former Middlesex seamer Tom Hampton on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old fast bowler has been taken on following a successful appearance in a Second XI trial game against Glamorgan last month.

Kingston-born Hampton made his only first-class appearance in his season with Middlesex in 2010.

Impressive trial

Hampton took 5-19 and 2-30 in Gloucestershire's Second XI trial game against Glamorgan at Nevil Road in September

Twice claimed six-wicket hauls for Buckinghamshire, taking 6-48 against Cumberland on his debut in June and then 6-79 against Norfolk in August.

He played Minor Counties Championship cricket for Buckinghamshire in 2014, taking 25 wickets in six matches.

"It's a fantastic opportunity," said Hampton. "Gloucestershire have a great squad and a quality coaching set-up. I'm looking forward to working hard over the winter to really push for a first team place."
