Carabao Cup
Liverpool's dismal form goes on, another clean sheet for Arsenal, another defeat for Wolves, Cardiff land a tasty home draw with Chelsea in the quarter-finals, Manchester City get the job done, and holders Newcastle march on.
I'll leave you with the last-eight draw.
Goodnight.
Right folks, it's almost time to go...
FT: Newcastle 2-0 Tottenham
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Always disappointing to lose, always disappointing to go out of the tournament that we would love to progress in.
"Small margins decided the game tonight - it was a very even game with chances and situations in both boxes. The two goals were also small margins where there was two mistakes.
"One [mistake] unfortunately from [referee] Chris Kavanagh, in terms of things you need to give. Djed Spence had his boot off - he needs time to tie his boot and he didn't. His marker, Schar, scored. I have spoken to Chris about it, and we will keep that between Chris and I."

Liverpool are trying to find solutions, fans will give Arne Slot quite a lot of time to find those solutions.
However, people are very short minded and they forget about what was so good last year. If they don't start to pick up results, people will start to get edgy. There was a guy behind us and he was irate with the performance.
He started screaming at Arne Slot saying, 'absolutely unacceptable - we are Liverpool'.
FT: Arsenal 2-0 Brighton
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, speaking to Sky Sports: "A very special evening to be fair, very happy for various reasons. Obviously, we are in the quarter-finals, and we won the game against a really tough opponent. We made 10 changes, we played players that never played together, yet we made two huge debuts for Max [Dowman] and Andre [Harriman-Annous]. That feeling of giving the opportunity to somebody and fulfilling a dream is unique, and I'm very happy that things turned out to be very positive, and we managed to win the game."
On Ethan Nwaneri scoring: "Really good and he came on the other day as well and he's going to have those chances and when he has, he needs to make the most out of it. I think he took the goal really well."

Steve: Resting players? It's October, played 9 PL games and a handful of cup games. Do they work through the week? Poor management. Slot had to bring in his own players this season, up to now it hasn't worked. But early days.

Image source, Getty ImagesLiverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "You have every option where you can choose from, but the reality is also that there is not a lot of reasons why we have lost five out of six.
"None of them are enough to make up for the fact we have lost so many. It is clear in the last few weeks we have always had to play two days after we played the last game after a difficult game in Europe.
"If you look at the week coming up, that is going to be a big week for us, everyone and the club. We need as many players available as we can. You can see today with the line-up I had to make. I only rested the players that have played mainly in the last week. This is the line-up you get. That shows you we already have a few injuries. With a big week coming up for me, it felt the best choice.
"Combined with that, this club has always chosen in the League Cup to give playing time to young academy players as well. Our squad is probably not as big as people think it is. There has not been a change in the way we look at this."

Jcarlosbuk: I'm beginning to think that Slot hasn't got a clue!
FT: Wolves 3-4 Chelsea
Wolves boss Vitor Pereira, speaking to BBC Sport: "What a second half. In the first half, we conceded the first goal and when I looked at the team, they were a bit lost and we conceded the second and third goals. It's my responsibility. We changed 11 players today and we play with 11 players who have not been playing for a long time. The connection is not easy for this kind of game.
"We spoke at half-time and I told them it is my fault, but I want to see my team and the spirit. We won 3-1 in the second half. The goal we conceded was a pity. We had the chance to score more goals. I am very happy with the spirit we showed in the second half and with our supporters. We feel the energy to compete and to change the situation."

Rseer: Not sure what Slot was thinking. You're struggling for form and momentum and you send out not just a second string team but no reinforcements on the bench either? Palace were always going to have too much for this line-up.

On Arne Slot's post match interview speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live...
Arne Slot has almost admitted there that the squad is not strong enough. I was quite disappointed in that interview. It was very much deflecting and making excuses.
You're a team in the Champions League, yet you're moaning that you're playing a game two days later. You know that is going to happen.
I felt there were a lot of excuses in there. You know your squad depth isn't the best then your business hasn't been good enough in the summer.

Capnb: Liverpool must be completely sick of Palace by now. What would be funny next is for them to draw each other in the FA Cup.
FT: Newcastle 2-0 Tottenham
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking to Sky Sports: "Really pleased because I think when you make the changes we did you hope to see a performance that's in line with our identity and our expectations. I thought the pressing early on in the game and general attitude of the players was very good.
"I think with the way we work we like to think regardless of the changes we make they deliver a Newcastle performance in line with our expectations. It's most important that our attitude is right from minute one and the will to win that you need and we had. Individually I thought there were some really good performances, collectively we were strong."
On scoring from a corner: [It's] something we've worked really hard on lately in our game and I think we have the height and power to cause teams problems. Its great to see a great delivery from Sandro [Tonali] and Fabian's [Schar] header was top class. He's always had a goal in him, he's always had that creative side of him game and it was a great moment for him."
What do we make of that draw?
Very tasty for Cardiff!
All four ties will take place on the week beginning 15 December.
Newcastle United v Fulham
Manchester City v Brentford
Cardiff City v Chelsea
Arsenal v Crystal Palace
Carabao Cup
Four of the eight teams in the quarter-final draw have never won the League Cup - Brentford, Fulham, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.
