Lancashire: Oliver Newby and Andrea Agathangelou released
- Published
Lancashire have announced Oliver Newby has been released after 12 seasons with the club, and have confirmed Andrea Agathangelou's departure.
Fast bowler Newby, 30, made his first-class debut in 2003 and went on to play 53 four-day matches for Lancashire.
He spent a month on loan at Essex last season, having not featured for the Red Rose county since September 2013.
"Oliver has not been able to hold down a regular spot in the side." said player-coach Glen Chapple.
"I hope there is an opportunity for him to do so elsewhere."
Agathangelou, 24, had already announced on Twitter he was leaving Lancashire after four years at the club.
