Pakistan v Australia: Hosts continue to dominate in Abu Dhabi

Pakistan moved closer to their first Test series win over Australia since 1994 after dismissing the tourists for 261 on day three in Abu Dhabi.

Seamer Imran Khan, in only his second Test, finished with 3-60 and only Mitchell Marsh (87), who hit 13 fours and a six, passed 50 for Australia.

Ahead by 309, Pakistan did not enforce the follow-on and lost early wickets but closed on 61-2, a lead of 370.

They lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning by 221 runs in Dubai.

After nearly two days toiling in the field, Australia began the day on 22-1 and lost David Warner in the fifth over of the morning, while Pakistan successfully reviewed an lbw decision to dismiss Steve Smith for a duck to make it 100-5 before lunch.

Skipper Michael Clarke (47) added 64 with Marsh for the sixth wicket and looked decisive against the spinners.

But three runs short of his 28th Test half-century, the 33-year-old fell to Imran's reverse swing as a delivery curved back from outside the off stump and went between bat and pad.

Marsh fell 13 runs short of his maiden Test century in only his second appearance, hitting a full toss from Imran to mid-on.

Johnson, who destroyed England with 37 wickets in Australia's 5-0 whitewash last winter, was hit for two fours and a six in the first five balls of the Pakistan innings by Ahmed Shehzad.

He bowled him with a rapid yorker next ball and also beat Mohammad Hafeez for pace in his next over.

But Pakistan record Test century-maker Younus Khan, who has made two hundreds and a double ton in his last three innings, finished unbeaten on 16 and now has 438 runs to his name in the short series.
