Lancashire spinner Stephen Parry has joined Australian Big Bash League side Brisbane Heat for the rest of the tournament as cover for Daniel Vettori.
Spinner Vettori will leave to join the New Zealand squad as they prepare for February's World Cup.
England limited-overs player Parry, 28, joins Andrew Flintoff, with whom he played at Lancashire, at Brisbane.
"He's a good lad and a seasoned competitor for Lancashire,'' said head coach Stuart Law of Parry., external
"He's a solid all-round cricketer so we expect him to slot in and play a similar role as the one Dan performed for us."
Parry will be available for their last three games of the season plus any finals matches that they reach.
He played two one-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals for England in March 2014, but has not featured for the national side since then.
The Heat won the Big Bash in 2013 but could only finish fifth last season.
