Ned Eckersley equalled his career-best total of 147 as Leicestershire fought back against Glamorgan on day three.

The opener struck 18 boundaries in a 279-ball stay to help his side progress from 202-1 before he was dismissed by all-rounder Craig Meschede (3-68).

Niall O'Brien (70 not out) guided the hosts to 399-6 at tea, but seamer Andy Carter (4-95) returned to take four wickets as Leics were out for 435.

Glamorgan ended with a lead of 125 going into day four, currently on 47-3.

Ned's knock

Eckersley's total put him level with his previous best, which came against Essex at Chelmsford in 2013

Earlier, Angus Robson (83) could only add one run to his overnight score before he lost his off stump to Meschede as Glamorgan took an early wicket.

But Eckersley and O'Brien's contributions saw Leicestershire to safety and make a draw the most likely outcome.
