Women's Ashes 2015: England and Australia face one-off Test

Three Twenty20 internationals follow the one-off Test match in this multi-format series

The Women's Ashes resumes in Canterbury on Tuesday with a one-off Test match as England attempt to overhaul their two-point deficit against Australia.

Victory in the four-day match at the St Lawrence Ground is worth four points, two fewer than the Test England won en route to retaining the Ashes in 2014.

Having lost the opening one-day match, Australia won the next two and lead the points-based multi-format series 4-2.

England have replaced Amy Jones with Fran Wilson in their squad of 14.

England's most recent Test match was last year against India at Wormsley, when they were bowled out for 92 in their first innings and lost by six wickets.

Captain Charlotte Edwards said of the successive defeats in the one-day internationals: "It's been nice to get away for a couple of weeks, reflect on it, learn from it and move on.

"We go out there in our ODI cricket and look to get wickets and score runs. We've just got to do it for an extended period of time, and that's what we're saying to the players.

"We want them to still be positive and express themselves.

"We're looking forward to trying to get back into this series, and four points would be fantastic right now if we can get them."

Opposite number Meg Lanning said: "If either side can get a win here, that certainly puts you in the box seat."

The solitary Test match began last year's series down under and England won by 61 runs at the Waca in Perth.

They lost four of the six limited-overs matches that followed and it was agreed that six points for the Test victory was excessive.

This series ends with three Twenty20 internationals, which are each worth two points for a win.

England have won the two previous series played under the points-based system.
