Glamorgan head coach Toby Radford says his team need new signings for next season after a crushing 316-run defeat by Kent in their final home game.

Chief executive Hugh Morris has said seam bowlers were a priority, but Radford also wants to add batsmen.

The Welshman, though, appreciates he will be working to a tight budget.

"We know we need some additions. I don't think we're flush with cash so there are not going to be a huge number of additions," he said.

"It's going to be the majority of this squad with a couple of extras to get around the issue of relying on three fast bowlers

"We need some solidity with the bat and we need to be able to rotate with the ball.

"It's not easy, it's the time of year where there is a fair bit of (transfer) movement.

"But it's always getting the right player at the right price."

Ingram landmark

Defeat by Kent was Glamorgan's fourth championship loss of the season, but their first in Cardiff.

Veteran medium-pacer Darren Stevens ran through Glamorgan's batting on the last day at Swalec Stadium with a spell of four wickets for 10 runs in 17 balls.

South African left-hander Colin Ingram was the only one to put up any resistance as he scored his first Championship century for the Welsh county.

"I didn't think it (the hundred) would mean as much as it does, it's been a long hard graft through the season," he said.

"I've got plenty of starts and hopefully I can take these last few games as an opportunity to build a good game for next season."

Glamorgan end the season away at Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire and Ingram added: "We've been in a little bit of a slump so hopefully we can try to turn it around in the last two games.

"We need to start laying the foundation for next season."

Changes in vain

The match against Kent saw a youthful batting line-up, but only the recalled James Kettleborough with 56 runs in the second innings made an impact.

"We've talked about how it's been a season of two halves, we played so well for half a season and in some recent matches we've just folded" admitted Radford.

"We've got to go to those last two matches with fight and desire and determination."

Mark Wallace will continue as captain for the trip to Northampton as Jacques Rudolph remains away on paternity leave.
