Glamorgan 2 pts, Northants 3 pts

Paceman Dewi Penrhyn Jones marked his Championship debut with two wickets as Glamorgan reduced Northants to 128-5 on day three at Wantage Road.

The 21-year-old dismissed Alex Wakely (40) and Ben Duckett (20), both caught by stand-in wicketkeeper Chris Cooke.

All-rounder Graham Wagg also struck twice, and the home side were 105 in arrears when bad light ended play.

Earlier, Glamorgan were all out for 233, with David Lloyd the last man to go, caught off Olly Stone for 92.

With so much time in the match lost to the weather, a draw appears to be the only feasible result on the final day.

But the performances of Lloyd and Penrhyn Jones, who are second cousins, offered promise for the future for Glamorgan, while Rory Kleinveldt (5-83) and Stone (4-73) bowled well for the home side.

Cooke, keeping wicket because of Mark Wallace's injury, took three catches in total for the Welsh county, also removing Rob Keogh off Wagg for 32.

Glamorgan all-rounder David Lloyd told BBC Wales Sport:

"It was a very good experience for me, it was a tough wicket and to get 92 was a highlight of my career so far.

"I was disappointed not to get over the line (for 100), but it wasn't meant to be and hopefully there are plenty more chances to get a hundred.

"Dewi bowled very well and looked like he'd been there for a while, there were no nerves. Hopefully he can take confidence from what he's done and keep going so fingers crossed.

"We both come from Brymbo Cricket Club and my dad used to coach me and Dewi, so it's good for him to have us both representing Glamorgan."
