Calum MacLeod hit the third-highest one-day international score by a Scotland batsman in his side's 101-run win over Papua New Guinea.
The 28-year-old right-hander hit 154 and was well supported by Richie Berrington (54) as the visitors posted 278-9 in Port Moresby.
Papua New Guinea, who are coached by former Australia bowler Jason Gillespie, were bowled out for 177.
The win moves Scotland into second in the World Cricket League Championship.
The top four sides progress to next year's 10-team qualifier for the 2019 World Cup, which is being hosted by England.
Kyle Coetzer's side had drawn with Papua New Guinea in their four-day Intercontinental Cup match earlier this week.
The sides will meet again in their next World Cricket League encounter on Sunday, again at Amini Park in Port Moresby.
