Incredible striking here really. To be able to give yourself room and control a head height ball is really impressive.

That's an extraordinary flat-batted heave down the ground. These are really valuable runs for this eight wicket partnership.

    Slappage!

Motie steps back and flat-bats a Mahmood bouncer back over his head for a maximum. Crucial runs for the Windies. England have bowled too short at this pair.

Gudakesh Motie has looked good out there today.

England go back to the seam of Saqib Mahmood. He has fantastically groomed facial hair.

This partnership is now worth 32. Crucial runs. Not necessarily taking the game away from England, but certainly altering the momentum. DLS might get a little boost, too.

  7. WI 182-7published at 31.1 overs

Jacob Bethell is bowling for the first time today, greeted by another Joseph belt down the ground for four more.

The West Indies are starting to get on with it, they know they've only got a few wickets in hand.

Thank you, Michael. It's still gloomy in south London, but West Indies are starting to show a little brightness. Alzarri Joseph biffs Will Jacks down the ground for four.

Gudakesh Motie played that like a tennis shot, that was extraordinary.

  11. WI 172-7published at 30 overs

Gudakesh Motie can swing a bat.

He hits Carse for consecutive boundaries, smacking the seamer down the ground then getting his toe-end on a tennis-style shot, seeing the ball land safely short of the ropes at long-on and then bounce its way over them.

Right, I'm going to hand you over to BBC Sport's finest, Stephan Shemilt, for the next portion of play.

    Pigeon drama!

Motie's drive into the covers off Rashid catches ones of the flock stalking the Oval outfield.

Matty Potts tentatively goes to pick it up, but it suddenly revives itself and flies off.

Either that or the Durham seamer has the magical ability to bring pigeons back to life.

Not a super power that would see him make The Avengers, you'd imagine.

A genuine off the back foot drive from Alzarri Joseph to get off the mark.

  14. WI 158-7published at 28 overs

Alzarri Joseph is the new batter, he faces three dot balls then slashes Carse's final ball nicely through a gap at backward point for four.

Sherfane Rutherford has played really well, that's unlucky. He's knocked it around nicely and kept the West Indies in the game really.

He's the only one that read the conditions, you feel as if their hope is gone now.

Rutherford goes after 'marvellous' Brook catch

That's a big blow to the West Indies!

A lot of their hopes rested with Sherfane Rutherford and he's walking back to the pavilion.

The returning Brydon Carse sends down a bouncer that cramps the batter for room and the delivery comes off the toe-end of the bat as Rutherford attempts the pull.

The ball loops up to mid-on and Brook takes the catch on the dive, taking control of the ball just above the ground.

This is a difficult position for the West Indies. They've only got four wickets in hand but they can't afford to go slowly.

  19. WI 153-6published at 27 overs

It's Adil Rashid's turn to change ends at, dare I say, a sunny Oval.

A couple of singles from his sixth over - he can bowl a maximum of eight.
