I say RCB will win this. A massive collapse coming from PK. They will go from 91-3 to 110-7. Mark my word.

  2. PK 88-3published at 11 overs

    Target 191

Josh Inglis evidently took umbrage with my previous post, smashing a poor short ball over mid-wicket for six.

However, Krunal Pandya responds well, conceding just a single off the next five balls.

  3. PK 81-3published at 10 overs

PK need 110 runs from 60 balls

Well, well, well. At the 10-over mark, you'd say it is advantage RCB.

There's not much in it - RCB were 87-2 at the same stage - but their tails are up after removing Shreyas Iyer.

Time for one final vote - hit the thumbs. Up for RCB, down for Punjab Kings.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9.4 overs

    Shreyas c Jitesh b Shepherd 1 (PK 79-3)

A huge wicket for RCB! Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has to depart for one after edging through to wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma.

The camera zooms in on Virat Kohli who is leaping in the air with delight. The crowd is quite stunned.

  5. PK 74-2published at 9 overs

    Target 191

Krunal Pandya is playing a huge role for RCB. He's taken 1-7 from his two overs and is yet to concede a boundary.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.3 overs

    Prabhsimran c Bhuvneshwar b Krunal 26 (PK 72-2)

Prabhsimran Singh tries to up the ante but can only pick out Bhuvneshwar Kumar after mis-reading Krunal Pandya's slower ball.

  7. PK 70-1published at 8 overs

    Target 191

Josh Inglis takes an instant fancy to Suyash Sharma, smacking him wayyyy over deep mid-wicket for six.

Prabhsimran Singh, who had been holding up the innings somewhat with his run-a-ball 18, also frees his arms with a thumping six.

    Time for a strategic timeout.

  8. PK 55-1published at 7 overs

Excellent bowling from Krunal Pandya, who is sporting a fetching red bandana and has a blue towel tucked into the back of his shirt.

Just three singles off the over. Prabhsimran Singh tried to move across his stumps to get in position for a big heave on a couple of occasions but Krunal followed him every time.

  9. Postpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 3 June

There's a lengthy pause as RCB make a substitution. Mayank Agarwal makes way for Suyash Sharma.

Krunal Pandya will bowl the seventh over.

  10. PK 52-1published at 6 overs

PK need 139 runs in 84 balls

A bright finish to the powerplay for Punjab Kings, with Josh Inglis dispatching Yash Dayal's penultimate delivery for a hefty pulled six. RCB also burned a review for a possible caught behind against Inglis but his attempted scoop was nowhere near the ball.

After six overs, Punjab Kings are 52-1. RCB were 55-1 at the same stage.

    I can't call this.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 5 overs

    Priyansh c Salt b Hazlewood 24 (PK 43-1)

    RCB have their wicket!

Phil Salt leaps high on the boundary to stop the ball, chucks it in the air before crossing the rope, runs back onto the field, and gathers at the second attempt. Excellent awareness.

He's mobbed by his team-mates. RCB needed that.

  12. PK 41-0published at 4.3 overs

    Target 191

Just when you think RCB have dragged themselves back into the game, Priyansh Arya strikes back-to-back fours to wake up the scoreboard operator.

  13. PK 32-0published at 4 overs

    Target 191

Better bowling from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, conceding just four runs.

On commentary, the words butter chicken have been mentioned. Butter chicken in Ahmedabad, carbonara at The Oval, and for Elizabeth in Salford? A comparatively sad meal deal.

  14. PK 28-0published at 3 overs

    Target 191

RCB make an early bowling change, introducing Josh Hazlewood into the attack, and the Australia international really should have had a wicket with his fourth delivery.

Prabhsimran Singh hits the ball straight down the throat of Romario Shepherd in the deep but he puts it down. Shepherd, if you remember, was dropped in the first innings, so maybe was just returning the favour. Moral victories and all that jazz.

  15. PK 23-0published at 2 overs

    Target 191

It's all going the way of the batting side at the moment.

Two more boundaries to the tally.

By the way, I am still here, Elizabeth.

    James in Cornwall

That's reassuring to hear, James. Even more reassuringly, I'm also still here.

  17. PK 13-0published at 1 over

    Target 191

Priyansh Arya gets Punjab Kings' chase off the a positive start, picking a gap in the field to dispatch Bhuvneshwar Kumar for four.

Prabhsimran Singh, on as an impact player in place of Yuzvendra Chahal, finishes the over with a six. It only just clears Phil Salt on the rope but the scoreboard won't show that. 13 off the over.

  18. Postpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 3 June

The trophy is looking shiny on its plinth. The players are making their way to the middle.

Let's get this chase under way.

  19. Postpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 3 June

One of these sides will win their maiden men's IPL title tonight.

Punjab Kings must chase 191 to be crowned champions. Can they do it?

Thumbs up for an RCB win. Thumbs down for Punjab Kings.

  20. Postpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time 3 June

Virat Kohli top-scored for RCB with a relatively sedate 43 (35) while Rajat Patidar (26 off 16), Liam Livingstone (25 off 15), and Jitesh Sharma (24 off 10) also made contributions.

Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson took three wickets apiece, with Arshdeep striking three times in the final over to derail RCB's hopes of posting 200+.
