  1. 'Neither of these sides are having flourishing seasons'published at 11:47 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire v Worcs 483-5

    Jemma Green
    Former Hampshire Women player

I think neither of these sides are having the most flourishing seasons, first-class-wise, they've both been reliant on their bowlers this year. Kyle Abbott is the top wicket taker and Tom Taylor is in the top five.

Batting-wise neither side have had anyone, before this game, anywhere near the top 10 or 15.

For Worcestershire to put this score on - they won the toss and the conditions have gone in their favour. They've then followed that up with executing and scoring a mammoth score yesterday and are hoping to add on (more) today.

  2. Postpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire v Worcestershire 483-5

Hampshire have stemmed the flow of runs in the opening 45 minutes of day two, but they have four overs left to find the one wicket they need for a second bowling point - who knows how important that could be come September, when it will be mercifully less hot and soupy than it is this week.

Gareth Roderick has one from 15 balls with Jake Libby on 145* from 296. Immense effort from him in these conditions.

  3. Division Two updatepublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 30 June

Daniel Bell-Drummond is going along nicely for Kent, who have now secured a third batting bonus point against Northamptonshire at Canterbury.

The Kent captain is 77 not out, with his side now 354-5.

Middlesex are also past that bonus point threshold at Leicester, with Ben Geddes unbeaten on 53 in their score of 370-6.

Leicestershire have picked up their second bowling point, however, with nightwatchman Naavya Sharma falling to Liam Trevaskis for 18.

  4. Postpublished at 105.1 overs

    Somerset 313-7 v Notts

A change by Notts as Liam Patterson-White picks up the attack.

The slow left-armer's first delivery is turned round the corner by Tom Banton for a single and he is not 68 not out.

  5. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 407-9

    All go at Hove.

Ollie Robinson has a face like thunder after Ethan Bamber top-edges over the keeper for four to move to 18*.

He replies with a perfect yorker, which Bamber takes a big hack at, and somehow manages to dig out deep in his crease.

Looks like he struck the bat into the ball precisely as it hit the deck as he's broken his bat in the process. New blade required.

  6. Second batting point for Glospublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 30 June

    Glamorgan 303-9

Gloucestershire eke out an extra batting point at Sophia Gardens as James Bracey carves a wide ball from James Harris square for four.

Bracey is 79 not out but has lost another partner with Ajeet Singh Dale caught at second slip off Timm van der Gugten for two.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 30 June

    Cox c Bairstow b Hill 33 (Yorks v Essex 275-5)

As the saying goes, one brings two...

George Hill is so often the man to come on and get a wicket immediately - and the Yorkshire all-rounder does it again, persuading Jordan Cox to nibble at the second delivery of his spell.

Jonny Bairstow does the rest and all of a sudden it's Yorkshire, rather than Essex, who are eyeing the chance of an additional bonus point.

Two new batters at the crease now for the visitors as Michael Pepper joins Charlie Allison.

  8. 400 up for Bearspublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 401-9

Oli Hannon-Dalby brings up the fourth batting point in almost comedic fashion.

He takes guard, watches Gurninder Sandhu steam in, decides to stand still and allow the ball the sail past fifth stump, only to leave his bat dangling a little too close, with the ball catching the inside edge, flashing back across his stumps and away to the fine leg boundary for four runs.

    They all count.

Given Bears were 174-1 at one stage yesterday, 400 was surely a minimum target.

  9. Maximum batting bonus points for Surreypublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 450-3 v Durham

Surrey's first target this morning is ticked off as Dan Lawrence clouts a Daniel Hogg half-volley through the covers for another boundary.

That takes Lawrence to 86 - and a century is surely his for the taking today.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 30 June

    Rushworth c Simpson b Sandhu 6 (Sussex v Warwickshire 397-9)

A third bowling point for Sussex it is.

Gurinder Sandhu manages to get the Kookaburra to seam and finds the edge of Chris Rushworth's bat, offering John Simpson his second catch of the morning.

Rushworth won't be thrilled to be out, but he'll like the fact Sandhu managed to get some movement, as he might well have the ball in hand in the next half hour.

Oli Hannon-Dalby is last man in for Bears.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 30 June

    Critchley b White 18 (Yorks v Essex 273-4)

That's a pretty unlucky way for Matt Critchley to get out, but Yorkshire won't care!

Jack White brings the ball back into Critchley, who gets an inside edge onto his body, back onto his glove and finally the ball rolls down to dislodge his leg bail.

Charlie Allison is next in for Essex.

  12. Second batting point for Somersetpublished at 102.5 overs

    Somerset 300-7 v Notts

Craig Overton pulls a ball from Mohammad Abbas but gets a top edge.

A sprawling Brett Hutton does his best to try and take the catch at long leg but can't quite squeeze his hands underneath it as it falls to earth and Somerset take two to move their total to 300.

  13. Postpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 30 June

    Yorks v Essex 266-3

Lovely shot by Jordan Cox, waiting for the ball from Ben Coad and just pushing it straight and firmly so that it runs back beyond the bowler for four.

It's Cox's third boundary so far this morning and takes him to 28, with Matt Critchley on 16.

You'd imagine the Essex pair will surely have a dart at the 34 runs they need from the next seven overs to secure another bonus point before the cut-off.

  14. Postpublished at 11:28 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 392-8

Ethan Bamber and Chris Rushworth, back in the Bears side this week, are inching towards a fourth batting point. They need eight runs to bring up the 400 with seven overs remaining to find them.

Sussex need one more wicket in that time for maximum bowling points.

  15. A day of records beckons at The Ovalpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 435-3 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Dom Sibley has moved onto 180 this morning and that is the highest score by a Surrey player against Durham.

It beats Mark Butcher's 169 in an innings win here in 1995. Surrey's highest total against Durham came that day too, when they made 652-9d. That will be broken today!

It's already very hot in London and Durham are a man down after Ben Raine suffered a foot injury yesterday. I really fear for Durham today because this looks like it is going to be a chastening experience.

The atmosphere is great though because there are 7,000 school children in the ground. But they are also in the danger zone. Dan Lawrence has just landed a six right in the middle of them.

  16. 'Just the start for Sussex'published at 11:26 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 388-8

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Just the start that Sussex wanted.

It was a good catch by John Simpson, low down to his left.

Sussex have the breakthrough. That was Ollie Robinson's third wicket of the innings.

They continues their fightback with this new ball.

  17. Postpublished at 101.3 overs

    Somerset 297-7 v Notts

    Contrasting boundaries for Craig Overton.

He edges Brett Hutton past the slips and then drives confidently through mid-off to bring his side within three runs of a second batting point.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 30 June

    Brookes b Abbott 7 (Hampshire v Worcs 477-5)

Kyle Abbott picks up his first wicket in his 20th over. Not often we've said that.

He jags one back at Ethan Brookes who thinks it's sliding past off stump... until he hears the death rattle.

Good start to the day from the hosts, but Jake Libby remains on 140* with his old opening partner Gareth Roderick joining him in the middle.

  19. wicket

    Jewell b Anderson 4 (Derbyshire 11-2 v Lancashire 367)

    James AndersonImage source, Rex

    He's done it again...

Sir James Anderson, to another lefty, angling one in... you know what comes next.

Australian Caleb Jewell follows his opening partner Mitchell Wagstaff back to the hutch after also shouldering arms, only to see the ball crash into the top of off stump.

Two for Anderson, and Derbyshire are up against it.

Wayne Madsen is the new man, which should be a box office battle with Anderson. Five decades of elite cricket between them.

  20. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 427-3 v Durham

Surrey are going to knock off this final batting bonus point with ease.

Dan Lawrence has picked up where he left off last night, charging spinner George Drissell but then lifting the ball sweetly over mid-off rather than employing raw power.

The stroke brings Lawrence six anyway and takes him to 72.
