England can afford to be very circumspect with their batting. Get their heads down and wait for the poor ball. No longer is this Bazball tactics. 2 runs an over through 2 days will do the trick.

I get a sense that Ben Duckett has been vocal out in the field and India are giving him it.

Ben Duckett lets out an "oooooh", gives a wry smile and a small shake of the head. He's not sure how that beat his outside edge.

    Neither is Mohammed Siraj.

He beat Duckett's bat three or four times during that over.

Akash Deep was staring at the pitch to see where the indentations are and he was trying to hit one of them.

The reason why Ben Duckett is not running at the ball is he probably feels there is not as much movement.

    Target 374

Ben Duckett runs a single off the final ball of Akash Deep's second over the day to retain the strike.

It's been a relatively calm opening 15 minutes from both sides.

It was in the air for a split moment. Ollie Pope wasn't in control of that.

India are chirpy out there. They have come out with lots of noise.

Right on cue, Ollie Pope bags the first boundary of the day. He drives through the covers and just beats the diving infielder.

India's players are doing lots of chatting and applauding in the field in between deliveries. Every time the camera pans to Shubman Gill, he's clapping.

Clearly India's tactics to England is they're not going to give them a load of boundaries early.

If you're going to get a boundary, it's going to be from a bad ball.

I wonder how Ben Duckett's hand is feeling today. He was struck by Prasidh Krishna late in the evening session on day three and received some treatment from the physio.

    England tick off three singles.

This is going to be fantastic to watch.

I think it was good for Ollie Pope that he didn't bat last night. He has had a night to get some kip and clear his head.

No fuss. An assured drive from Ollie Pope.

The players are out in the middle.

England are 50-1 after 13.5 overs and need a further 324 runs.

Mohammed Siraj will get play under way with the final ball of the 14th over.

Play will resume with one ball to go in the 14th over, bowled by Mohammed Siraj.

How important will his dismissal of Zak Crawley with the last act of day three be?

Ollie Pope will join Ben Duckett at the crease when play starts this morning after Zak Crawley's dismissal late last night.

Pope averages 35.44 in Test cricket, but he has endured particular struggles in England's second innings. He averages 46.69 in their first innings, but that drops to 19.64 in the second.

In the fourth innings of the match, as this is, Pope's average is 16.15.

The best part is looking at Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep - they look nimble.

It doesn't seem they have bowled so many overs in the series. That's the important bit. One thing my eyes were on was how they were looking this morning.

Physically they're ready to go and mentally they're in a good space.

There is enough in this wicket to get your worried. The challenge as a batter is sticking to your gameplan when you see a few flying. The ball is only 13 overs old which is in the sweet spot when the lacquer comes off and it starts to do something.

The game is not in the balance as India are quite heavily favourites, but you cannot write off this England side.

India will be worried. You have a feeling - 'Can they do it again?'
