  1. That's thatpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 21 September

It has been a whirlwind five seasons of regional cricket, mostly coloured by Southern Vipers trophy lifts, but it is all over.

These eight teams will be replaced by eight counties next season to compete in the Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One Day Cup.

We'll see you then for that.

Until then, congratulations on Sunrisers on their turnaround from three years with a win to worthy champions.

  2. Western Storm captain Sophie Luff on ECB stream:published at 16:29 British Summer Time 21 September

"They will absolutely take it. If I was in that Sunrisers camp and I was watching the rain come down knowing we were ahead on DLS, I'd be thinking 'happy days' and put our feet up and watch it rain for a while.

"Yes not the fairy tale ending of getting the euphoric running on the pitch but they won nonetheless.

"They thoroughly deserve it. They were the better team on the day. Kate Coppack led the attack brilliantly and then the batters did their job as well."

The rain hasn't gone anywhere, so the match has been called!

Sunrisers win the game by 27 runs (DLS) but more importantly...they are champions!

The side that couldn't win, has won.

A fantastic achievement to end the regional era of domestic women's cricket.

South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 121-3 - rain delay

An almighty thunderclap has woken people up.

There are puddles on the outfield and even the groundsmen have gone to find covers.

This feels like a good time for us to pause this live text commentary.

We will be back if/when things dry up and the thunder and lightning stop.

As it stands Sunrisers will be Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy winners, having beaten Stars by 27 runs.

    Hopefully this rain passes quickly.

There is still some light to the right of us, but it's a bit gloomy on the left.

We hope it will pass through quickly on the strong winds, but nothing seems to be blowing at the minute.

There is a reserve day on Sunday but we have escaped that scenario with 25 overs completed.

They are getting all the covers on - even the sheets are on now.

The rain has got heavier over the past few minutes.

The grey has descended on us at Leicester after the sun which has shone over us for so long.

That lightning will mean at least half an hour off the field.

In that time it is forecast to rain fairly heavily.

  10. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 25 overs

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 121-3

Grace Scrivens is close to getting run out while attempting a quick single.

Lissy MacLeod follows it up with a powerful strike over the covers.

And we're going off. It is raining!

In fact there has been lightning in the area so the umpires have to take the players off.

DLS par is 94, so if we don't get back on then Sunrisers are champions.

  11. 'That looks threatening'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 21 September

    Luke Wolstenholme

There are clouds on either side.

There looks like a lot of rain coming from the left potentially. That looks threatening over there.

We'll be hoping it just misses us here.

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 116-3

The floodlights have come on slowly in the last couple of overs.

Behind them, are some dark clouds - rain is coming, in fact it might already be spitting.

The good news is it is that we have passed the 20 overs that constitute a match.

  13. Postpublished at 23 overs

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 114-3

WASP is giving Sunrisers an 88 per cent chance of winning.

They are a run and half ahead of the required rate, and under 100 now needed.

Grace Scrivens and Lissy MacLeod milk three runs from the 23rd over.

  14. Postpublished at 22 overs

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 111-3

Time for some more Tilly Corteen-Coleman - she was tight in her first three overs with figures for 1-12.

Mostly solid but the only width she offers is lofted over the covers by Lissy MacLeod for four.

  15. 'That's a really big wicket'published at 15:05 British Summer Time 21 September

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 104-3

    Luke Wolstenholme
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It just stuck in the pitch ever so slightly.

Grewcock went back and was through the shot far too early.

That's a really big wicket for South East Stars. She got a half-century in the semi-final.

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 104-3

Jodi Grewcock goes back to Kalea Moore but the ball gets stuck in the pitch and she can't keep the ball down.

That was a good return catch from Moore as well. It looked like it was looping over her head but she stuck a mitt out.

    Lissy McLeod in next.

A few more quick wickets for Stars and there might be some jitters in the Sunrisers dressing room.

  17. 'A calm and composed chase'published at 15:02 British Summer Time 21 September

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 103-2

    Nikki Chaudhuri

Grace Scrivens has picked up length very quickly there.

She is playing a captain's knock.

The Sunrisers have been very calm and composed so far in this chase.

  18. Postpublished at 20 overs

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 103-2

When Grace Scrivens has fancied a delivery, she has really fancied a delivery!

On this occasion, Dani Gregory bowls a smidgen short and Scrivens hoicks to the boundary.

    Up to 34 now.

There is at least one boundary ball an over and that isn't helping Stars' ability to control things.

  19. Postpublished at 18 overs

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 95-2

That's Jodi Grewcock (7 off 9) moving in the right direction.

Kalea Moore somewhat overpitches and Grewcock waits for it and times the ball to the boundary.

Not a bad way to get off the mark.

Still no risks being taken but 11 runs off the over.

  20. Postpublished at 17 overs

    South East Stars 212 v Sunrisers 86-2

Time to put away the shots again for Sunrisers.

There aren't many bad balls coming from Dani Gregory and there is no point of taking any risks with the run-rate well ahead of what is needed.
