  1. Ban 124-3published at 35 overs

Sharmin 63, Joty 35; need 79 runs from 90 balls

Chamari Athapaththu is throwing the kitchen sink at Bangladesh, turning to opening bowler Madara Malki (0-11 from her first spell of six overs) for the 34th.

But even against the standout bowler, Sharmin Akter and Nigar Sultana Joty just keep rotating the strike. Tap and run. Tap and run.

Sri Lanka need a wicket. Bangladesh need 79 from 90 balls.

  2. Ban 100-3published at 30 overs

    Sharmin 53, Joty 24

Now, this is where things will get interesting.

Sri Lanka were 159-4 after 30 overs, with Hasini Perera and Nilakshi de Silva in full flight and eyeing 270 or 280. However, wickets tumbled and they could only post 202.

Bangladesh are 100-3, needing 103 runs from 20 overs. A nail-biting finale beckons.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Sharmin Akterpublished at 29.1 overs

    Ban 96-3

Sharmin Akter runs two to bring up her half-century off 81 deliveries, including four fours and one six.

She's playing a nice anchoring role.

  4. Ban 73-3published at 25 overs

    Sharmin 36, Joty 16

The positives for Bangladesh: they haven't lost a wicket since the 16th over, Sharmin Akter and Nigar Sultana Joty are both looking settled and have put on 29 (57) for the fourth wicket, and they have wickets in hand.

The bad news: they need 130 runs from 25 balls and the required rate (5.2) keeps going up.

Sri Lanka will be pretty happy with how the first half of this innings has played out, but it's worth remembering that runs dried up in the final 10 overs of their innings.

  5. Ban 58-3published at 20 overs

    Sharmin 31, Joty 7

Are Bangladesh slowly creaking into life? They haven't scored a boundary since the 13th over but Sharmin Akter and Nigar Sultana Joty are building a partnership and over the past five overs, their run rate has crept up to about 3.5.

Bangladesh need 145 runs from 30 overs. It's in the balance.

    Mostary c Gunaratne b Kumari 8 (44-3)

Sobhana Mostary couldn't have picked out Vishmi Gunaratne better if she tried! Straight down the throat of the fielder in the deep.

    Bangladesh are in real trouble.

  7. Ban 42-2published at 15 overs

    Sharmin 25, Mostary 6

Bangladesh are scoring at under three runs per over and the required rate is creeping up towards five.

However, Sharmin Akter is looking well set on 25 (40).

Worryingly for Sri Lanka, Udeshika Prabodhani, who was excellent in the powerplay, has limped off with the help of a physio.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.2 overs

Fargana run out (Samarawickrama) 7 (Ban 24-2)

Oh dear, oh dear. Bangladesh are in a bit of bother.

Fargana Hoque has been run out by a long, long way.

  9. Ban 23-1published at 10 overs

    Fargana 7, Sharmin 13

Sri Lanka were 64-1 at the end of their powerplay. Bangladesh, by contrast, have found runs harder to come by, scoring just 23-1.

Udeshika Prabodhani remains a thorn in their side, with 1-14 from her five overs.

Bangladesh need 180 runs form 40 overs.

  10. Ban 8-1published at 5 overs

    Fargana 6, Sharmin 2

It's been a sedate start from Bangladesh, who have scored just eight runs from their opening five overs.

The economical Udeshika Prabodhani has 1-1 from her first 12 deliveries.

Bangladesh are lacking intent but time is on their side.

  11. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.5 overs

    Jhilik c Sanjeewani b Prabodhani 0 (Ban 2-1)

Bangladesh have lost a wicket in the second over!

Rubya Haider Jhilik sends a little tickle through to the wicketkeeper and starts walking before the umpire has finished raising her finger.

Udeshika Prabodhani and Sri Lanka are delighted.

  12. Postpublished at 14:31 BST

Malki Madara is opening the bowling for Sri Lanka, with Fargana Hoque and Rubya Haider Jhilik in the middle for Bangladesh.

    Bangladesh need 203 to win.

  13. Bangladesh chasing 203 to keep semi-final hopes alivepublished at 14:02 BST

Sri Lanka will head into the interval thinking about what might have been.

Hasini Perera made Bangladesh pay for dropping her on 23, 55, and 63, going on to make 85 (99) – her maiden international half-century.

However, despite sharing good partnerships with Chamari Athapaththu (46 off 43) and Nilakshi de Silva (37 off 38) for the second and fifth wickets, clumps of dismissals prevented Sri Lanka was posting the 270 or 280 total which had been on the cards with 20 overs remaining.

They collapsed from 72-1 to 100-4 and later 174-4 to 182-8 before being bowled out for 202 with eight balls remaining.

Shorna Akter led the way with the ball, taking 3-27.

Bangladesh need 203 to pick up their second win of the tournament and keep their semi-final hopes alive.

    And that's that.

Malki Madara goes for a single, Inoka Ranaweera says no, and makeshift wicketkeeper Rubya Haider Jhilik whips off the bails.

Sri Lanka are all out for 202. Bangladesh need 203 to win.

Rabeya Khan gets her second wicket.

It's a big swing and miss from Udeshika Prabodhani and the ball clatters into her middle and leg stumps.

Sri Lanka have, however, made it to 200.

  17. SL 193-8published at 45 overs

    Prabodhani 2, Madara 8

A rare moment of cheer for Sri Lanka in the 42nd over as Malki Madara strokes a four through backward point - the first boundary for more than 10 overs.

It's one of only four scoring shots in the past five overs.

  18. SL 186-8published at 40 overs

    Prabodhani 1, Madara 2

Three consecutive maidens for Bangladesh to take the match into the final 10 overs.

The scoreboard has ground to a halt and Sri Lanka are just hanging in there to try and bat out the full 50 overs.
