    Thanks for your company today.

England were indebted to Heather Knight for getting them out of a bit of a hole after Bangladesh applied some pressure in a low-scoring Women's World Cup encounter.

Ffion Wynne has tried to make sense of it all in her report from the ACA Stadium in Guwahati so be sure to check that out...

Scroll down to watch clips of the key moments and read all the reaction.

We will, of course, be back on Wednesday at 10:00 BST with live text commentary of Australia vs Pakistan, with Test Match Special commentary as well.

Here's a few more cricket stories for your perusal between now and then:

This is still a 'win' for Bangladesh. Teams will never get better if your captain just says "well done girls, you were great."

Without the batters at the end bringing those later runs, England would have had a much easier chase. But it is not surprising that Nigar Sultana Joty is frustrated.

England did do it the hard way but what they have shown today is that grit and determination to take the game as deep as possible. We didn't see that from this team in January.

There was a middle-order collapse but Charlie Dean and Heather Knight were incredible.

  3. 'It could have looked a bit better'published at 17:38 BST 7 October

England captain Nat Sciver Brunt: "We did what we needed to do to get over line. Before the tournament we spoke as a group that not everything is going to be easy and we will need some resilience in our skills. It could have looked a bit better but we are really happy.

"The great thing we have is Charlie coming in at that number. That partnership was very crucial for us. The calmness they both showed in a high pressure situation was brilliant. We would have liked to have done it with a few less wickets down but that is the way it went in the end."

On Heather Knight: "For her to be able to switch on and read the game really well and know what she needed to do, it is brilliant to have her back."

  4. 'Fought until the last ball'published at 17:36 BST 7 October

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty: "I think it was an incredible game, especially with the way my girls fought until the last ball. With the bat we lost early wickets but Sobhana Mostary batted well, sometimes without support, and then Rabeya Khan played a good cameo.

"We were maybe 20 or 30 runs short on that wicket. Should Rabeya have batted higher? Maybe we will think about it later [in the tournament]. The way she batted today was incredible and inspiring.

"I wanted the batters to play until the last ball because we could have got 10 or 12 runs more. They are very young and sometimes not making the decisions and we wanted to give them knowledge to capitalise in the middle."

On Marufa Akter's injury: "We wanted to bowl in the right areas but we missed Marufa Akter after he injury. If we have her, maybe we have a chance. She should be okay for the next game, though."

  5. 'We had to park our egos'published at 17:33 BST 7 October

More from Heather Knight: "It didn't feel very easy at the start. First proper game in the middle since May. Struggled to find the rhythm a little bit. They bowled really well up front, were threatening. They took a lot of pace off which made it hard - tricky to hit through the outfield. A lot easier as it went on."

On Marufa Akter: "She is a very good bowler. She gets that real late swing which is rare. She threatens the front pad. Luckily I got a couple of reprieves and tried to find a method to get through it. Nat did really well to hit her out of the attack."

On her reprieve with the catch at extra cover: "I thought it carried and was a fair catch that is why I walked off. Obviously the TV umpire decided otherwise."

On her partnership with Charlie Dean: "Charlie was brilliant. Alice Capsey played really well to get a little partnership. We just said one partnership would get the bulk of the runs. We had to park our egos a few times and play more attritionally with the surface, the way they bowled, accuracy and not much pace on the ball."

England need to get better at facing spin. If you are any opposition, you know you have to bowl as much spin as is possible on the surface you have against England.

That was the most amount of spin we have seen in this tournament so far and death by spin worked. Bangladesh did not fall in a heap as they have done previously.

  7. 'We made it hard for ourselves'published at 17:27 BST 7 October

England batter Heather Knight: "I can't say I have been out three times and been reprieved ever in an innings. That was a new one for me.

"It wasn't the easiest conditions. Bangladesh have a really good bowling attack and a little bit on inconsistent turn.

"Obviously there was a little bit of pressure on, we made it hard for ourselves but the main thing in World Cups is getting over line."

  8. Postpublished at 17:24 BST 7 October

Unsurprisingly, Heather Knight has been named player of the match for her 78 off 111 balls.

We'll be hearing from her shortly.

This has been one of those games where Bangladesh kept it exciting but England were always going to win and should have always been in control.

When Alice Capsey and Emma Lamb fell, there was speculation of what Bangladesh could do. But the seniority of Heather Knight - she knew what she was doing.

That is the victory for England! A really tight encounter and Heather Knight will take all of the plaudits.

Charlie Dean should also be given credit for digging England out of a huge hole.

I think a little reality required by some. Bangladesh thrashed Pakistan. Pakistan beat NZ. In summary Bangladesh are no mugs in these conditions and I would expect them to be in top four at end of group stages.

It has not been thrilling or exciting from Heather Knight but it has been very much needed. Can she whack a boundary to finish this?

  17. Eng 173-6published at 45 overs

England content to do this in singles now as Charlie Dean and Heather Knight work the ball into the gaps effectively.

There's a few oohs and ahhs from the Bangladesh fielders when Knight skips down the pitch to Rabeya Khan and inside edges a four through fine leg.

    England need six to win.

What a spell of bowling that is from Fahima Khatun. Another maiden over but these two are looking pretty set at the crease.

This is now the highest number of spin deliveries ever seen in a World Cup match, passing the 443 we saw between Bangladesh and West Indies in 2022.

It is also the sixth most in any ODI since 2007.

A final throw of the dice as the impressive Fahima Khatun bowls her final over.

It's a maiden as Charlie Dean diligently blocks out to see her off.

England need 16 runs off 36 balls.
