  4. 'Calmness shown was pretty special'published at 21:55 British Summer Time 11 July

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt to Sky Sports: "I felt pretty out but that [failing to review the lbw decision] is just the way it goes.

"With a bowling attack we have got and the people on the sidelines waiting to come in it is a pretty easy job to chuck the ball to different people, so I'm happy I could keep the winning streak going.

"I would have liked to have faced more than one ball but the depth we have got I felt pretty confident. The last few overs were pretty nervy but the calmness they showed was pretty special.

"We don't want to do it all the time but putting ourselves under pressure like that and then come out the other side. If we can take to [the World Cup in] Bangladesh, that would be perfect."

  5. 'We're starting to see learnings with this group'published at 21:51 British Summer Time 11 July

New Zealand captain Sophie Devine talking to Sky Sports: "We asked the group to be more competitive, have fight and ticker and we had that today. I am really proud of the group - it has been a tough tour so far and to take them so close today was encouraging. If we take five catches it is a different game. I am proud of the way the girls fought back today and showed a lot of ticker out there.

"We thought 140 was par on this wicket. It was tough going, it was not my natural game to go as slowly. Our batters showed intent and were clear on how they wanted to score. To see those learnings is something we've asked for and we're starting to see with this group.

"We don't like to compare ourselves and if you see how well their spinners have bowled, I thought ours were brilliant today. It is that learning. I am really proud of the spinners unit. Pressure is starting to build in terms of competition for places.

"I'd like a win but this is international cricket and it is igoing to be tough. I've still got a huge amount of belief in this group but we're working towards the pinnacle event at the end of the year."

Player of the match, England's Alice Capsey speaking to Sky Sports: "We got off to a good start and were feeling pretty good. We felt the pitch was starting to die a little bit but was still coming on pretty nicely so we struck to our plans.

"It got to squeaky bum time a little bit at the end but Freya Kemp in that second-to-last over was outstanding. We were both in the zone. It was nice to be out there with her and get over the line.

"I love batting number three it is the best place to bat in T20. I feel like I have a good understanding of my game. I just want to perform for England so I'm happy to get a performance in today."

New Zealand were poor in the field. Their three main batters were good but it just goes to show that one other partnership would have got them to a score that England wouldn't have been able to chase.

England still needed 22 from 16 balls when Amy Jones was run out. But Freya Kemp's remarkable cameo took the game away from New Zealand.

New Zealand are having a circle of truths on the outfield at the moment. I don't feel like now is the moment to reflect on a game of cricket.

That misfield on the boundary sums New Zealand's performance up. They improved in so many ways, particularly with the bat, but mistakes in the field at crucial moments has cost them.

That is pretty brutal. It is going to sting the New Zealand group.

They will be able to pick out some positives because it was a much-improved performances. These results can hurt more than the ones where you get battered.

New Zealand haven't learnt how to win yet. It shows in tight situations.

It is the dropped catches from New Zealand in the backend of this game that could cost them. It has been the same throughout this tour. It is at least four drops off the top of my head.

Outstanding from Freya Kemp. She got into position early and it was like a hockey shot.

It takes the pressure off England. All they've got to do is knock the ball around.
