South East Stars' wicketkeeper Georgia Redmayne, who pulled off two vital stumpings during their semi-final victory over Southern Vipers, was full of praise for her team-mates after they dethroned the reigning champions.

“It’s really exciting to make it through to the final and beat a really good team to achieve it," she said.

"We knew we were going to be up against it with a team of Vipers’ quality after they put up a really good performance against us just a few days ago, so we’re really proud of the girls after what was an awesome team effort.

"They batted really well up top and set the tone. We thought 160 would be a good target on this wicket and the way Sophia Dunkley and Paige Scholfield batted was amazing to watch."

    #bbccricket

The Blaze's skipper Kirstie Gordon has performed her first duty for the final - winning the coin toss.

Unsurprisingly, Gordon opts to repeat the plan that worked in their semi-final against Central Sparks - namely to bowl first and chase.

Both The Blaze and South East Stars have named unchanged line-ups from the semi-finals.

"Really proud of the girls, it was an awesome team effort today.

"The Blaze are also a really strong team and they finished top of the table. It's never going to be easy and it's a really tight turnaround.

  11. 'Vipers didn't live up to potential'published at 17:25 British Summer Time 22 June

    Nikki Chaudhuri
Surrey bowler on BBC local radio

    That was a great game.

The Vipers weren't really out of it until that last over.

They will be disappointed that the batting line-up didn't live up to their full potential but overall I felt like the Stars were dominant throughout the game.

  12. Stars reach the finalpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 22 June

South East Stars 162-5 v Southern Vipers 157-9

Outstanding death bowling from the South East Stars in the last three overs does the business.

Not a single boundary conceded and Tash Farrant gave up only four runs from that final over. Absolutely superb!

South East Stars 162-5 v Southern Vipers 157-9

Freya Davies goes for a big heave and makes no contact. More wonderful bowling from Tash Farrant and the Stars are through to the final.

Davies is run out for good measure, although that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

The Blaze are probably relieved that this game is going the distance.

It means whatever team they play will be slightly fatigued.
