South East Stars 83-4 v The Blaze

Emma Jones certainly isn't hanging about - not that you can ever afford to in T20 cricket.

She slog-sweeps Josie Groves for six and tires to smash another ball out of the ground, but has to settle for a single to long-on instead.

Without looking it up, I suspect that's the lowest half-time score we've had today.

The start not proving easy for the Stars.

  3. Postpublished at 10 overs

South East Stars 73-4 v The Blaze

And just like that, we're already halfway through this Stars innings - but The Blaze will be the happier of the sides at this stage.

That's despite another powerful leg-side boundary from Emma Jones, who has nine from seven balls. Georgia Redmayne is on six.

  4. Postpublished at 9 overs

South East Stars 68-4 v The Blaze

No-nonsense approach from new batter Emma Jones, who cracks her first delivery straight back over Josie Groves' head for four.

It takes the fielders a while to retrieve the ball from its landing place but, once they do, Stars collect another two singles from the rest of the over.

  5. 'Stars in a spot of bother'published at 19:21 British Summer Time 22 June

The Stars are in a spot of bother here.

They need a partnership - that's an obvious thing to say.

That's a big wicket for Josie Groves!

It's deja vu from the last one as she turns the ball away from Paige Scholfield and Sarah Bryce does the honours again.

    Stars are in trouble now.

  7. 'A strange innings'published at 19:16 British Summer Time 22 June

South East Stars 61-3 v The Blaze

    Clive Eakin
    BBC CWR Sport

    It's been a strange innings, hasn't it?

Getting 22 from the first over but it's been a bit of a struggle for the Stars since then.

    They needed that I felt.

  8. Postpublished at 8 overs

South East Stars 61-3 v The Blaze

Lucy Higham comes into the attack, but she drops the ball short and Paige Scholfield pummels it through midwicket for four runs.

Overall, though, just eight from the over and The Blaze will be happy with the way this is going.

  9. Postpublished at 7 overs

South East Stars 53-3 v The Blaze

New batter Georgia Redmayne is off the mark with a single from her first ball and the pressure is on her and Paige Scholfield now to rebuild this Stars innings.

    That's a big wicket.

    That's a classic leg-spinner wicket - that turned!

  11. wicket

WICKET: Dunkley st S Bryce b Groves 16published at 6.5 overs

South East Stars 52-3 v The Blaze

Leg-spinner Josie Groves sends down her first ball, which is pretty much asking to be dispatched to the cover boundary - and Sophia Dunkley obliges.

But what a response by Groves, who foxes her with one that turns and is snapped up by Sarah Bryce with Dunkley out of her ground.

  12. Postpublished at 6 overs

South East Stars 46-2 v The Blaze

That's the end of the powerplay - and it's a lot better from The Blaze perspective than might have seemed likely after the first of those six overs.

Stars took 22 from that first over but they've managed just 24 from the next five and lost two wickets as well.

Franklin seemed stuck on the crease, there was a lack of footwork and Graham gets a breakthrough.

  14. wicket

South East Stars 44-2 v The Blaze

It looked as though Phoebe Franklin might have thrown off the shackles, carving Heather Graham's first ball to the boundary.

But she's castled by the next one, getting into a tangle in the crease and edging onto the stumps.

  15. Postpublished at 5 overs

South East Stars 40-1 v The Blaze

Kathryn Bryce is keeping it really tight here, stifling the batters and varying her pace as well.

Only five from the over and there's another close call for Phoebe Franklin, who gets a bottom edge past the stumps and picks up a single.

  16. Postpublished at 4 overs

South East Stars 35-1 v The Blaze

Sophia Dunkley is down the track to Kirstie Gordon and hammers her over the top for a boundary that moves her into double figures.

A less clean stroke by Phoebe Franklin, who chops down on the ball and just about avoids deflecting it onto the stumps.

The Blaze are fighting back well after that disastrous first over.

  17. Postpublished at 3 overs

South East Stars 28-1 v The Blaze

Kathryn Bryce is into the attack for The Blaze and it's a tidy start by the medium-pacer, with just two singles conceded.

Phoebe Franklin is off the mark, while Sophia Dunkley has five to her name.

  18. Postpublished at 2 overs

South East Stars 26-1 v The Blaze

Good effort by Kirstie Gordon, who follows up the wicket of Bryony Smith with three dot balls to the new batter Phoebe Franklin.

This final was in danger of getting away from The Blaze already after that opening blitz from Smith.

Kirstie Gordon has her 21st wicket of the tournament - and The Blaze badly needed it after just nine balls.

Bryony Smith attempts the sweep and is struck on the back leg, up goes the umpire's finger and the Stars skipper is on her way.

  20. 'Poor start from the Blaze'published at 18:50 British Summer Time 22 June

This is a real poor start from the Blaze.

Ballinger just kicks the turf in pure frustration.

    She's really disappointed with herself.
