This innings is about saving runs, bowling intelligently to the areas you want to be hit. Jos Buttler made the right team selections, loading the side with seamers.

David Weise is exactly the kind of hardened, experienced T20 specialist that England never seem to select.

    Robin, Coventry.

  4. Nam 74-1published at 8.3 overs

    Target 126 (10 overs)

Well bowled, Chris Jordan. Nails the yorker. Only three singles so far.

  5. Nam 72-1published at 8.1 overs

    Target 126 (10 overs)

Wiese plinks a pull. Just a single. Loses the strike.

I was actually retired out three times in a season as a young man playing at university in Warwick. Embarrassing for me but deservedly so in hindsight.

    Emil, Stroud

Chris Jordan to bowl the ninth.

Four more, then a single to keep the strike

    20 off the over.

And we've just had word the DLS target should be 126.

    55 needed off two overs.

They're taking cover on the grass banks! That's taken out a barbecue, I think!

    Nam 66-1published at 7.4 overs

    Target 127 (10 overs)

    Six, six from David Wiese.

Rashid the bowler. Down the ground, then a slog-sweep.

    He should have opened.

If players can get pulled because their strike-rate is rubbish, I'm in A LOT of trouble.

Great question. Can you just walk off?

I reckon there are plenty of my team-mates that would have liked to have retired me out over the years.

How does 'retired out' work? Is it a call from the captain, or does it have to (at least nominally) come from the batsman?

I wonder what Davin is saying in the sheds?

"Fair enough, I'd have got me out of there sooner."

He made 18 from 16 balls.

Wiese immediately looks a bit different, standing tall. He's an experienced, intelligent cricketer, sways inside the line of Curran and sends the ball on its way to deep third.

  16. Nam 50-1published at 6.4 overs

    Target 127 (10 overs)

As far as I can tell, this is the fifth time in a men's T20 international that a batter has been retired out.

To be clear, Davin was not retired hurt. Namibia yanked him.

Of those four previous occasions, two were Hevit Jackson of France. That's got to hurt.

Davin retired out 18 (Nam 44-1)

I've never been involved in a game where this happened.

Namibia have seen enough of Nikolaas Davin and retired him out. David Wiese is the new man.

This is lovely from Rashid, a nice reply to that first-ball six. Brave enough to throw it up there. Slow, lots of flight, plenty of turn.

To the person who suggested I join The Dull men's Club on Facebook, I see you.

Bit loopy from Adil Rashid which means Van Lingen can step down to get to the pitch of the ball.

Well, hello. Adil Rashid, the number one bowler in the world, is greeted by a mighty thwack over the leg side by Van Lingen.
