  1. Fire 83-4published at 44 balls left

Ben Kellaway is playing really nicely here. This is a punched back-foot drive over extra cover.

That was a difficult catch for Craig Overton. He was a little bit late to approach from the boundary and the ball just burst through his hands.

  3. dropped catch

It's a chance. Another tough one.

Craig Overton comes in from the boundary at long-on but gets there just before the half volley.

  4. 6 runs

Fire 74-4published at 48 balls left

This is a good start to the second half as Tom Kohler-Cadmore pumps Michael Bracewell for four.

This will be a massive ask for the Welsh Fire. Two a ball has been done in the tournament before but the win predictor is not in their favour.

  6. Fire 67-4published at 50 balls left

    Need 101 runs to win

Ben Kellaway gets a little lucky as a leading edge to Tymal Mills loops over a fielder at point but he greets the left-armer's final ball with a better stroke which flashes for four.

We're halfway through. Fire are not halfway to their target.

  7. Fire 59-4published at 55 balls left

    Target 168

James Coles, who I bigged up just a couple of overs ago, produces one of the worst throws in attempt of a run-out.

It was so high it would have missed another set stacked on top of the proper ones.

Tom Abell was praying that the ball would not carry through to the wicketkeeper but he got the thinnest of edges.

Abell had a start but it is so hard for batters to come in and have to go from the word go.

It’s been a competition of contrasts for Welsh Fire’s batting unit.

Against spin bowling they have been brilliant, averaging 32, which is the highest average of any team against spin. Against pace, however, they have averaged just 16 runs per wicket, the lowest of any side.

    Abell c Albert b C Overton 20 (Fire 51-4)

Tom Abell's fun was good while it lasted. He tries a scoop, the ball takes a thin edge and Craig Overton has a third wicket.

This total is just about in touching distance. Welsh Fire's batting unit has not really fired throughout this whole tournament.

It would be good fun if they could go on to do this.

  12. Fire 51-3published at 60 balls left

    Need 117 from 60 balls

Good response from James Coles who was starting to leak runs like a patchy looks lets through water.

It's still a big ask from here.

  13. Fire 50-3published at 63 balls left

Tom Abell strikes two fours in a row. Maybe this wasn't as done as I was making out.

  14. Fire 42-3published at 65 balls left

Need 126 runs from 65 balls

There are more shouts of "green army" from the home crowd, despite that big hit.

  15. 6 runs

Fire 37-3published at 69 balls left

Heaved high into the night's sky and a long way back too by Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

Welsh Fire cannot leave a lot until the death. They need to show intent without doing ludicrous risks, which his difficult to do.

Southern Brave need to try and stifle them.

  17. Fire 31-3published at 70 balls left

Need 137 runs from 70 balls

    Shot.

I really like the look of James Coles in all formats - I watched him get a fine red-ball hundred against Durham earlier this year - but this one with his left-arm spin is too wide and allows Tom Kohler-Cadmore to throw the hands.

  18. Fire 24-3published at 75 balls left

Need 144 more runs to win

Tymal Mills concedes only three from his first five balls. Had Brave's batting line-up fired in this tournament they'd have had a real chance. It was not to be.

  19. Fire 20-3published at 80 balls left

    Target 168

The ball does appear to be zipping around under the lights in fairness.

IT entrepreneur Sanjay Govil is the man who has invested £40m in Welsh Fire for next season, taking on the two teams who have finished bottom of the standings.

That's four billion pennies for his thoughts.

Jonny Bairstow played that shot on the walk and just kept walking. Perfect length from Jordan Thompson with the slightest of away moment.

Welsh Fire are in serious trouble.
