    Bairstow c Albert b Thompson 5 (Fire 13-3)

Eeeee. Welsh Fire's tournament is ending in a whimper.

Jonny Bairstow nicks one and is walking off almost before the catch has been taken behind the stumps.

Southern Brave will keep hunting for wickets. Jonny Bairstow can be dangerous and there is more batting to come. Tom Kohler-Cadmore is a very good player so Fire aren't out of it.

Need 160 runs to win from 90 balls

It has not been good from Welsh Fire, has it?

A team has lost a wicket with the first ball of the innings on two occasions in this year’s competition. Both times it’s been Steve Eskinazi and the Welsh Fire.

  7. Fire 7-2published at 93 balls left

Remember when Steve Smith told Craig Overton his bowling was slow?

It should be three for Overton but Jordan Thompson drops Tom Abell at point.

Both openers gone! Steve Smith cannot believe it - he keeps looking back at the umpire to make sure it is confirmed.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 95 balls left

    Smith c Roy b C Overton 4 (Fire 5-2)

Craig Overton gets Steve Smith. Smith turns around to the umpires as he walks off, I assume doubting the ball had carried to short extra cover.

    It has!

  11. Fire 5-1published at 96 balls left

That early wicket brings out Jonny Bairstow after just one ball. He was opening earlier in the tournament and effectively is here.

"Green Army" is the lone voice from one youngster in the hand as Steve Smith edges for four.

That was almost identical to Stephen Eskinazi's last dismissal against the Oval Invincibles.

A bit of a loose ball from Craig Overton really and a duff hit from Eskinazi. An early boost from Welsh Fire.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 99 balls left

    Eskinszi c Du Plooy b C Overton 0 (Fire 0-1)

First ball! Stephen Eskinazi slaps a wide ball from Craig Overton straight to cover.

Remember there's no Jofra Archer for Brave. He's having a rest before returning to England duty.

This still feels a big ask, however.

Welsh Fire need to lay a decent foundation. The atmosphere closing in and the temperature being slightly lower might make the pitch skip on a bit better.

Fire certainly need to make the most of the powerplay in the first instance.

    Target 168

Right then. Time for the final innings of the group stage of this year's Hundred.

Boos, as ever, for Steve Smith as he walks out.

Riley Meredith becomes the 7th player in Hundred history to concede 50 runs in an innings.

It’s the third time it has happened this year, after Rashid Khan (59) and Samit Patel (53) also achieved the undesirable milestone.

Southern Brave batter Jason Roy speaking on Sky Sports: "I had a lot of fun out there. It was nice to contribute. It feel like we have been there or thereabouts this whole tournament so it was nice to put on a show for the home crowd.

"It is always winnable and we will try our hardest. With the pitch being slower and there being some turn, Michael Bracewell will have a good day out on it. We came out well in the last 10 so we have some momentum.

"The home crowd have been incredible. It is a shame we have not put our best foot forward as we have an amazing group. Thanks to everyone who has supported us."

    Right then.

Welsh Fire will chase 168 - that feels a little steep for the competition's bottom side.

Here's Matthew Henry to see if they can pull off a win in Southampton.
