    You're not wrong, Geoff.

Matt Short goes again and that is absolutely huge. I think it's into someone's garden!

Matt Short loves a pull shot for six - that's a signature of his play.

  3. 6 runs

    Target 310

Oooh, Olly Stone takes a bit of tap.

Travis Head clips a loose delivery off his hips for four, before Matt Short clubs one through the covers for the same result before clubbing a short ball into the stands for the first six of the chase.

England started well, but that over signals Australia's intent.

  4. Aus 16-0published at 3 overs

    Target 310

England have started brilliantly here, especially to the explosive Travis Head, giving him absolutely no width to work with.

But the opener expertly responds by giving himself some room outside leg stump and playing through the covers for his first boundary.

Four leg byes earlier in the over are also very welcome runs for the Australians.

The DLS target for Australia will be 85 for no loss in 20 overs, 97 if they are one down and 113 for the loss of two wickets.

  6. Aus 7-0published at 2 overs

    Target 310

Olly Stone continues England's disciplined start with a probing line and length at decent pace.

A reminder that we need to get through at least 20 overs of this second innings to constitute a game.

  7. Aus 4-0published at 1 over

    Target 310

Decent opener from Potts, just the four from it.

The rest of the Australian line-up is keeping warm inside, wearing their full tracksuits and even some woolly hats.

Sunday marks the end of the cricketing summer in the UK - both domestically and internationally.

  9. Aus 1-0published at 0.1 overs

Both sides will have DLS targets/par scores in the back of their minds as the rain looks likely to play its part at some stage.

Matthew Short gets the run chase under way with a single from his namesake Potts' first ball.

    Cheers, Mike.

Yep, England were 202-2 when I handed over and then proceeded to lose eight wickets for 107.

Australia's chase will begin imminently - how much of it we'll get, is unclear.

Well, the covers are coming off and England are gathered on the sidelines.

Looks like we'll get started at least.

England definitely played better during Ffion Wynne's commentary stint in the first innings, here's hoping that trend continues now...

The covers are on the square but not covering the pitch during the interval. England's bowlers have been doing some warm-ups. We're still getting lucky for now.

Ben Duckett top-scored for England, making 107 from the top of the order.

He put on 132 for the third wicket with Harry Brook (72) before the England skipper fell from the final ball of the 25th over.

England were 202-3 at that point, but slipped to 216-5 before Duckett brought up his century from 86 balls.

He was the sixth wicket to fall in the 34th over, and England ultimately crawled to 309 all out in the final over, with Adil Rashid making 36 from 35 at number eight.

Travis Head, the eighth of Australia bowlers, had the pick of their figures, taking 4-28 from his 6.2 overs.

It ebbed and flowed, that innings for England. They came out of the blocks flying and captain Harry Brook played brilliantly, but those wickets really curtailed them and brought Australia back into the game. Adil Rashid marshalled the tail nicely to give England a score that is not really imposing but one that gives them a chance to win this game and the series!

  17. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time

Well, a semi-respectable total for England in the end, although they'll be wondering be what they could have set having let slip a position of 202-2 just short of half way.

Either way, I'm not sure they'll have a chance to defend their score.

England are all out for 309 and the ground staff are getting the covers out immediately. They are anticipating rain any second now and they want to make sure they are ahead of it.

    And that's the innings.

Stone turns Travis Head's opening delivery into the leg side to bring Adil Rashid on strike and the England spinner lofts the ball high in the air towards long-on.

Marnus Labuschagne runs round to take the catch and that's that.

    The covers come on immediately.
