Summary

  • Ireland v Zimbabwe day four (11:00 BST)

  • Irish to start on 33-5 chasing 158 for victory

  • Richard Ngarava takes 4-12 to to give Zimbabwe edge

  1. Ire 113-5published at 25 overs

A quick single from Andy McBrine off Tendai Chatara.

After taking a Barry McCarthy bouncer to the head yesterday, Tanaka Chivanga has not returned to play today and was replaced by Victor Nyauchi as a concussion replacement.

Nyauchi has been effective in tests for Zimbabwe before but has strangely not been used so far.

  2. Ire 112-5published at 24 overs

Not one, not two but three appeals in a row from Blessing Muzarabani on Andy McBrine after Tucker's half-century.

Two were claims of an edge that were caught but they struck a glove and pad. The third was an lbw claim that pitched off.

Sean Bennet with some superb fielding to save two runs at the boundary.

  3. 50 runs

This partnership between Andy McBrine and Lorcan Tucker has reached 86 which is Ireland's highest ever sixth-wicket partnership.

    Total remaining is 51.

What a first hour for Ireland! The momentum has shifted once again with Tucker and McBrine in fine fettle.

The Irish pair have rattled off 67 quick runs and look imperious in middle.

One again the morning has belonged to the batters and Zimbabwe have rarely threatened, with the match now quickly running away from them.

  6. drinks break

    Drinks breakpublished at 22 overs

    Ire 100-5

Lorcan Tucker has brought up the century with the final ball before the drinks break here at Stormont. What an hour of batting we've seen between Tucker and Andy McBrine.

Zimbabwe will be shell-shocked as they have conceded 67 runs without getting a wicket as they have not been able to pick up where they left off at close of play yesterday.

    This match is on!

  7. Ire 94-5published at 21 overs

Whisper it quietly but Lorcan Tucker is approaching his half-century. He is on 39 and McBrine is on 34 as this pairing has been superb.

  8. Ire 88-5published at 20 overs

The first appeal of the day as Sean Williams' spin catches Lorcan Tucker's pad. The Irish keeper may have got away with one but he remains in place.

  9. Ire 86-5published at 19 overs

Three more for Ireland as Joylord Gumbie prevents the boundary this time but is able to stay on this side of the hoardings!

  10. Ire 83-5published at 18 overs

What a start for Ireland! An incredible all-run five after Tendai Chatara ended up hurdling the hoardings as he successfully prevented the ball hitting the boundary but he had no one to back him up.

Another boundary takes Ireland's total for the over to 10 as they are chipping away at this total tremendously. Who could have seen this coming last night?

  11. Ire 73-5published at 17 overs

A scoreless over to start from Chatara. Not much danger but better from the Zimbabwean attack.

  12. Ire 73-5published at 16 overs

Another boundary from Lorcan Tucker brings up the 50 partnership for him and McBrine. They just keep scratching away at that total.

Tendai Chatara is in for his first bowl of the day after Ngarava and Muzarabani have been ineffective so far.

  14. Ire 69-5published at 15 overs

Another pair of boundaries reduce Ireland's target even further. This morning has gone the way of the hosts with the sunnier and drier weather favouring them.

  15. Ire 61-5published at 14 overs

As has been the case in this Test, the morning has belonged to the batters as Ireland have reduced their total to chase to double figures.

Ngarava has not been as effective as he was late in the day yesterday.

  16. Ire 52-5published at 13 overs

Ireland make their way to the half-century fairly routinely as McBrine and Tucker are playing comfortably.

106 required for an Ireland win. It is still doable.

  17. Ire 45-5published at 11:19 British Summer Time 28 July

Tucker and McBrine have negotiated these first few overs with considerably aplomb.

It may be a case a new day, different game with Ngarava and Muzarabani not as yet producing the hostility of yesterday.

  18. Ire 45-5published at 12 overs

Ireland are able to tack on more runs thanks to Tucker and McBrine. They are settling in well which is just what Ireland need.

  19. Ire 41-5published at 11 over

A maiden over for the towering Muzarabani with some dangerous balls well played by Lorcan Tucker.

  20. Ire 41-5published at 10 overs

Richard Ngarava was yesterday's tormentor-in-chief but his first over today sees Andy McBrine take him to the boundary.

But for good fielding from Brian Bennett, he could have had another.
