Well, the rain may have taken two games from us but it is England who head to the World Cup full of confidence after a very convincing win.

Pakistan seem to have more questions though, particularly around their batting line-up which looked rather fragile in the middle.

You can read Matthew Henry's match report from The Oval if you missed any of tonight's action, or watch on BBC iPlayer.

You can also listen to the T20 World Cup preview on the Test Match Special podcast on BBC Sounds.

And of course, we'll be bringing you all the action here on the BBC Sport website and app when the tournament begins next week so we look forward to you joining us throughout!

  2. 'There was a question on whether we could play together'published at 22:12 British Summer Time 30 May

England fast bowler Mark Wood on BBC Two: "It was a bit frantic, it was my first game back in a while and it wasn't till after the first couple of overs I felt I was back into it. The pitch felt strange. Anytime I overpitched, it seemed easy for them to score.

"I've been trying to work on different things to bring my game forward, but today we just needed the wickets."

"There was question on whether or not me and Jofra could play together, we've both been out for a long time and we just want to contribute as best we can."

  4. 'A great place to be'published at 22:06 British Summer Time 30 May

England captain Jos Buttler on BBC Two: "Really excited [for the World Cup], great to get two games in, it would have been good to get a full series but another really good game tonight.

On Wood and Archer: "It's really exciting. Any time you see pace in the game, especially those two bowling together, it's a great place to be.

"The two of them bowled really well on a quick wicket. It was coming through, Pakistan got it through as well. It's always good to watch them bowl together."

On the spinners: "Great to have that variety, lots of different options. Liam Livingstone being able to bowl both off-spin and leg-spin gives us lots of depth with the bat and bowling options.

"Interesting, I thought the guys bowled really well on this pitch with the ball not spinning. Just kissing on and doing the batters for a bit of pace. A different style of spin."

On Adil Rashid: "The big thing for Rash is his seam position, whether he bowls on the seam or scrambled seam. If it hits the shiny side, it can skid on and almost accelerate off the wicket."

There is a lot of talk about what the make-up of the team will be in the World Cup but having Jofra and Mark Wood in the same team is so exciting.

Seeing them both fit, running in hard. Jofra doesn't look like he's been away - he's not played in England for four years!

He bowled brilliantly at Edgbaston, brilliant again today and it's just so exciting as an England fan.

There is very little change in his action regardless of what length he's trying to hit. That's what makes him so effective, especially with his bouncer.

There is normally a tell with a bouncer but Jofra is exactly the same action. Same with his change of pace, same arm speed which makes him so difficult.

How long have we waited to see Jofra Archer and Mark Wood in tandem?

Tonight was a real treat. Wood in particular was rapid.

  7. 'I was taking the positive option'published at 21:58 British Summer Time 30 May

England opener Phil Salt, speaking to BBC Two: "It is [my job to go out and smack it]. To be fair, I think that's everyone's job.

"I would have liked to be a bit more clinical but that's the game, I was taking the positive option and trying to take us forward.

"No real message. I've played a lot with Jos now, we've got a good understanding. He knows the right time to feed something but it's very relaxed.

"I like playing in the West Indies but I've really enjoyed this home series. Very much looking forward to being back in Barbados."

Extremely comprehensive. I thought it was a pretty flawless performance.

With the new ball they hit their straps and bowled quick. The spinners in the middle did a fantastic job and then it was so clinical with the bat.

It showed up how much depth England have actually got. The talent just keeps coming.

England chased down that total with ease. A convincing win.

England and Matthew Mott will be absolutely delighted with that win. They ticked all boxes.

Pakistan started well but all the bowlers chipped in to fight back, and with Reece Topley on the sidelines, they seem to have all bases covered as they head to the Caribbean.

And with the bat, Jos Buttler looks in great touch and it's a terrifying partnership between himself and Phil Salt.

They'll take plenty of confidence from this series, despite the weather wiping out two games.

Excellent going into a World Cup. They have the captain in form with the bat. Jonny Bairstow and the top four all looking in good order.

But more importantly, Jofra Archer is back, Mark Wood is fit, they've got pace and all round, they'll be feeling good.

    England mean business.

They've won only four games out of 12 coming into this series.

Ed O'Toole: Rather than trying to hit every ball out of the ground, England need to play a bit cuter here. Get the singles, get the ones and twos and hit the bad balls to the boundary, then it's an easy win.

  19. Eng 135-3published at 14 overs

England are just getting this done.

Harry Brook has six from 10, not quite finding his rhythm yet, but he's got plenty of time.
