Milestones galore in the last couple of overs at Grace Road.

The batting bonus point for 350 the most important for Leicestershire, the 150-run partnership and this 100 from Rehan Ahmed have been the contributions to get them to this position.

His fourth century in first-class cricket, all at just 20 years of age - he probably won't break James Rew's record for Championship hundreds before he is 21 but certainly has had a good run at it batting much higher up the first half of this season.

He's on 101* off 112 balls, 13 fours and two sixes, his second 50 off just 44 balls.

  2. wicket

    Ackermann b Sandhu 65 (Durham 249-5 v Sussex 361)

First ball of the final over.

Gurinder Sandhu rearranges Colin Ackermann's furniture with the new ball and that's a huge bonus for Sussex so late in the day.

  3. 50 runs

50 for Lewis Hillpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 23 June

    Leicestershire 348-2 v Glamorgan 353 AO

A 50 for Lewis Hill while Rehan Ahmed is nearing a greater personal landmark too.

95 balls saw him to 51* as Ben Kellaway is the latest Glamorgan bowler trying to dislodge either of this pair nearing a third batting bonus point for Leicestershire.

  4. Close of play at Chelmsfordpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 23 June

    Essex 296 v Hants 293-4

Hampshire will be by far the happier of the two sides tonight.

They bundled Essex out quickly this morning and have gone about their work with the bat nicely.

Tilak Varma has batted brilliantly for his unbeaten 98 and has been ably supported by the evergreen Liam Dawson, who finishes day two on 79.

The visitors trail by just three runs with six wickets in hand.

  5. new ball

New ballpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 23 June

    Durham 249-4 v Sussex 361

Gurinder Sandhu is handed the new ball with three overs remaining in the day.

Can Sussex find some magic late in the day?

  6. Division Two updatepublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 23 June

Lancashire cruising along at Blackpool at 77-0 in reply to Kent's first-innings 374. Still two days remaining but it's going to take some bowling effort from either side to avoid a draw.

And that's a result that does little for either team as they sit in the bottom two of the second tier.

Gloucestershire have lost opener Joe Phillips in their second innings and, at 32-1, still trail Derbyshire by 175 runs.

Saif Zaib (71no) and Lewis McManus (48no) are nearing a century partnership as they guide Northants (287-5) to within sight of Middlesex's first-innings total of 413.

  7. 6 runs

    Worcs 214 & 35-3 v Surrey 291

Jake Libby cracks a boundary and then two balls later sends Nathan Smith over the rope for six.

Is attack the best form of defence for the home side?

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 23 June

    Kashif b Fisher 12 (Worcs 214 & 21-3 v Surrey 291)

This is not going to end well for the home side.

Kashif Ali has got himself to 12 and then plays a poor shot on the drive to be cleaned up by Matthew Fisher who takes his second wicket of the innings.

Worcestershire are still 56 runs behind against the champions.

  9. Postpublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 23 June

    Essex 296 v Hants 276-4

    Tilak Varma, that is glorious.

It's a floaty half-volley from Sam Cook, but it still needs putting away and Varma does it in style, caressing it through extra cover to the fence.

    He moves into the 90s.

  10. 50 runs

50 for Latham & 100 stand for Bearspublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire 134-1 v Somerset 498

Tom Latham has reached 52 off 95 balls.

He has batted well but been fortunate to benefit from those two missed chances, the Craig Overton drop at slip off Jack Leach and the James Rew missed stumping off the same bowler on 28.

  11. 50 runs

50 for Alex Daviespublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire 120-1 v Somerset 498

Matt Henry should have stopped that off his own bowling, but it is a nice straight drive from the home skipper for two to reach 51.

109 balls with five fours, quite patient, one of his slower innings for 50 here, particularly vs the kookaburra ball.

His main chance given was that catch to Archie Vaughan at backward point off Migael Pretorius when on 36.

  12. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 23 June

    Worcs 214 & 9-2 v Surrey 291

Matthew Fisher whacks the pads of Kashif Ali and thinks he has the Worcestershire man pinned lbw.

The umpire does not agree but Fisher seemed convinced and the ball kept low.

There's some uneven bounce out there now just to add to the home side's problems.

  13. 50 runs

50 for Liam Dawsonpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 23 June

    Essex 296 v Hants 249-4

Sam Cook bustles in to Liam Dawson and the Hampshire all-rounder cuts a back-of-a-length delivery for four to move past 50.

The next shot is less convincing, but brings about the same result as an edge goes through the cordon.

  14. 300 runs

300 and another bonus point for Foxespublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 23 June

    Leicestershire 301-2 v Glamorgan 353 AO

Rehan Ahmed up to 61* as he gets Leicestershire past 300 with a crunch for four off Ned Leonard.

Their run rate is still 4.8 and that is also the 100 partnership between he and Lewis Hill from 139 balls.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 23 June

    Nicholls lbw N Smith 0 (Worcs 214 & 8-2 v Surrey 291)

Two for Nathan Smith and Worcestershire are in the mire.

Henry Nicholls pads up to Smith - always a dangerous game and for Nicholls it's the end.

Out comes Kashif Ali who is on a pair after being run out in the first innings

  16. Postpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 23 June

    Worcs 214 & 4-1 v Surrey 291

Matthew Fisher whistles one past the outside edge of the Worcestershire skipper Jake Libby's bat - it was probably too good a delivery.

This is not helping the nerves of Worcestershire fans.

  17. Missed stumpingpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire 106-1 v Somerset 498

I did not expect Tom Latham to give a chance, but on 28 off 74 balls that is a genuine miss from James Rew.

Tom Latham ran down and completely missed it, Rew just having the ball stuck in his chest.

Latham then sweeps for four then paddle sweeps for one to add salt into the wound of course.

A chance apiece from each batter in the last couple overs then, though that was easier than Archie Vaughan's catch.

  18. 50 runs

    Durham 223-4 v Sussex 361

He's looked in total control and Colin Ackermann jogs the single for his 50.

He and Graham Clark take another single to bring up their 50 partnership.

Clark seems to be a man in a hurry as he has made 35 of those runs.

  19. 100 runs

100 for the Bearspublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire 100-1 v Somerset 498

A Migael Pretorius no ball and then a dropped catch from Archie Vaughan at backward point, then a drive through midwicket for three from Tom Latham takes the Bears onto 99.

A single from Latham and another from Alex Davies get them there after 33 overs, thanks also to 13 generously gifted Somerset extras.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 23 June

    Roderick c Jacks b N Smith 4 (Worcs 214 & 4-1 v Surrey 291)

    Oh dear...

In comes Nathan Smith and there goes Gareth Roderick who looks like he's giving pre-match slip practice by guiding the ball straight into the hands of Will Jacks.
