Summary

  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 23 June

    Stewart c Bohannon b Stanley 2 (Lancashire v Kent 324-8)

The third time Josh Bohannon has been in the right place at the right time today.

Grant Stewart shanks one straight up in the air and watches on as the inevitable comes to pass.

We're in the 110th over so Kent will only have two batting points to show for their efforts despite Ben Compton's brilliant 135.

Lancashire, meanwhile, will claim the full complement of bowling points despite toiling for much of the past day and a half.

  2. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire 13-0 v Somerset 498

Josh Davey somehow gets one to leap at Alex Davies but he survives a poke just over the cordon.

Tight lines from the genuine allrounder, that the only run off his first over.

Much better start from the former Scottish international than his test teammate had at t'other end.

  3. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 23 June

    Worcs 209 v Surrey 197-6

Surrey are 50-5 since lunch and Ben Allison has taken 4-35.

Replays suggest Mitchell Santner might have had a case for feeling aggrieved at being given out lbw but does that excuse the reaction?

  4. Postpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire 12-0 v Somerset 498

Matt Henry opens from the City End and wow this first over is some statement of intent from the home side.

Carrying on from his 3-44, England Lions' Rob Yates took four off his legs then nails a cover drive for four, then cuts for four, the echo of his bat resounding around the concrete bowl at Edgbaston.

It is not Craig Overton though, the skipper lets Josh Davey open the batting and the bowling in this match!

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 23 June

    Santner lbw Allison 0 (Worcs 209 v Surrey 197-6)

    Surrey collapsing!

It's raining wickets at New Road and Mitchell Santner is livid with the decision and he doesn't mind letting the umpire know either.

He is given out lbw to Ben Allison but points to the bat, clearly saying he hit it.

There are a few boos as the Kiwi trudges off.

  6. Postpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 23 June

    Essex 296 v Hants 145-3

Essex spinner Simon Harmer gets the better of Tilak Verma, finds the outside edge, but it's away to the boundary before anyone can move.

Verma has 42, while Essex trail by 151.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 23 June

    Compton c Hurst b Green 135 (Lancashire v Kent 318-7)

Wickets falling everywhere! Bowlers getting used to the Kookaburra??

Anyway, a majestic knock of 135 from Ben Compton comes to an end as he nudges one behind off spinner Chris Green.

It's been a big innings for Division Two's basement side who are looking to climb off the bottom.

  8. Somerset 498 all outpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 23 June

    Henry c Hain b Yates 7 (Warwickshire v Somerset 498)

Rob Yates has picked up three!

Matt Henry holes out to wide long on and Somerset do not get the 500 psychological boost.

Sam Hain with the catch in his wide-brimmed hat.

Craig Overton left 21* off 47 balls.

There were 31 extras in that lengthy first innings.

We will have another late tea interval here by the way!

  9. wicket

    Jacks b Allison 0 (Worcs 209 v Surrey 195-5)

Ben Allison celebrates a wicket for WorcestershireImage source, Rex Features

    What is happening out there?

Two wickets in three balls for Ben Allison - this one keeps low and Will Jacks' middle stump is ripped out of the ground.

Mitchell Santner is in now and this was not part of the Surrey script at lunch.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 23 June

    Sibley lbw Allison 73 (Worcs 209 v Surrey 195-4)

    A huge wicket for Worcestershire.

Dom Sibley looked like he was settled in for lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast but Ben Allison catches him in front of the stumps and off he has to go.

The home side have taken three wickets for 38 runs since lunch.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 23 June

    Gay lbw Archer 37 (Durham 81-2 v Sussex 361)

Jofra Archer appealsImage source, PA Media

    Jofra Archer strikes!

He had a loud lbw appeal against Emilio Gay turned down in his previous over but Archer fires another one into the pads and this time the finger goes up.

The England bowler has his first County Championship wicket in four years.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 23 June

    Leach c Latham b Bethell 11 (Warwickshire v Somerset 487-9)

England's former left-arm spinner reverse sweeps their potential, probable, future left-arm spinner straight to Latham at slip.

Jacob Bethell burgles another and Somerset may not make 500 now, only bonus psychology really, but expect Craig Overton to tee off now Matt Henry is with him, though remember he has scored runs from as high as nine in test cricket.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 23 June

    Finch c Hurst b Balderson 52 (Lancashire v Kent 314-6)

It's been tough going for Lancashire's bowlers but George Balderson has kept plugging away.

He takes his figures to a respectable 3-52 as Harry Finch's tidy 52 ends with a nick that just carries to wicketkeeper Matty Hurst.

Balderson fancies that he's got next man Grant Stewart lbw later in the same over but no signal from the umpire.

  14. Postpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 23 June

    Durham 79-1 v Sussex 361

    Jofra ArcherImage source, PA Media

Jofra Archer smacks one into the pads of Emilio Gay and there's a huge appeal for lbw but the answer is a shake of the head.

    Maybe looked a bit high.

Archer finishes with a maiden - 0-15 from his seven overs so far.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 23 June

    Lyth c Kishan b Abbas 0 (Notts 487 v Yorkshire 0-1)

    Gone first ball!

Yorkshire's day goes from bad to worse as Adam Lyth nicks a beautiful delivery from Mohammad Abbas through to Ishan Kishan.

James Wharton is in at three.

  16. 100 runs

100 for Leicestershirepublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 23 June

    Leicestershire 102-0 v Glamorgan 353 AO

Great partnership from Sol Budinger (61*) and Rishi Patel (39*) again opening for Leicestershire - Rehan Ahmed opening was only a brief sojourn whilst injury split these two.

They get in there in style as well, just the fourth ball Mason Crane bowls in this match struck for six over deep midwicket by Budinger.

  17. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 23 June

    Worcs 209 v Surrey 185-3

Dom Sibley helps himself to a second maximum of his innings as he helps a Jacob Duffy delivery over the rope.

Sibley moves to 68 and he has been unruffled by those couple of wickets which have gone down after lunch.

  18. 100 runs

100 for Derbyshire skipper Madsenpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 23 June

    Division Two update

Wayne Madsen has beaten team-mate Harry Came in the race to 100 in Bristol.

The pair have been neck and neck scoring wise for much of their near 200 partnership but it's captain first - he's on 108no, Came on 92no.

Derbyshire are on 278-2 and will surely dwarf Glos' paltry 187 by the end of their innings.

Zafar Gohar has his second wicket for Middlesex, who earlier posted 413 and have reduced Northants to 103-2.

  19. Postpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 23 June

    Warwickshire v Somerset 476-8

The post lunch slump saw Somerset give away a few cheap ones.

Poor old Corey Rocchiccioli who toiled away for 25 overs for just Tom Abell's scalp for reward, sees Jacob Bethell and Rob Yates pick up three between them, but both getting a bit of tap now.

Jack Leach just getting away with giving Alex Davies another catch, Craig Overton hitting hard just short of extra cover in the same over too, they are still playing positive shots here.

  20. wicket

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 487published at 14:22 British Summer Time 23 June

    Patterson-White c Hill b Moriarty 87 (Notts 487 v Yorkshire)

Yorkshire have finally bowled Nottinghamshire out for 487 as Liam Patterson-White picks out George Hill in the deep.

It's a fourth wicket for Dan Moriarty and although it looks a very good batting pitch, runs on the board mean the pressure is on Yorkshire.
