It has taken me by surprise that this is Annabel Sutherland's first five-wicket haul in international cricket. She has four four-fors but never five.

It's also her 24th birthday.

Without Annabel Sutherland Australia really would have been in trouble.

She removed Richa Ghosh just as the India wicketkeeper was starting to motor, saw off Jemimah Rodrigues and wrapped up the tail to check India somewhat.

Sutherland took 5-40. She was the only bowler to go at less than five runs per over.

India batter Pratika Rawal: "When I am on the non-striker's end I like to see her [Smriti Mandhana] go. Personally, I am happy I got a decent score. There were a lot of dot balls to start but I am glad to convert it into a big score. I like to play the ball in the merit and take the shots on merit. Everyone else really chipped in."

We'll have to see if it's enough but one thing is for certain. That was a lot of fun. It all started with that 155-run opening stand between Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana.

It's not often the great Australia look helpless. They did at times early on today.

India were 153-0 after 24 overs and 192-1 after 30. They were even 294-4 in the 43rd with Ghosh flying.

It could have been more but Australia still need the highest chase in women's ODI history.
