Tammy Beaumont is dealing also exclusively in boundaries so far, driving Suganidika Dasanyaka square for the fifth four of her innings.

Heather Knight is looking a little skittish.

The scoreboard is ticking along nicely.

If you get a compilation of the very worst lbw calls ever given, you will find quite a lot of them have taken place in Sri Lanka. Maybe such calls get given in domestic cricket.

  4. Not outpublished at 5.5 overs

That was not a good review from Sri Lanka. The ball was missing leg stump by some distance.

  5. Sri Lanka reviewpublished at 5.5 overs

Sri Lanka are going upstairs for an lbw against Heather Knight.

The umpire was very quick to shake her head.

  6. Eng 33-1published at 5 overs

Urgh. Sri Lanka's fielding in these opening five overs has been a bit all over the place.

Granted, it was a poor delivery from Udeshika Prabodhani, losing her line and sending Tammy Beaumont a gift down leg, but the diving fielder makes a hash of it on the rope and it goes over for four.

There's been a lot of talk about Heather and how she played the last time out against Bangladesh and got England out of so much trouble. She was 16 out of 51 deliveries initially, and then a phase in the middle where she was 12 off 17, and then she was 51 off 43 with acceleration towards the back end of the innings.

  8. Eng 25-1published at 4 overs

Up until that run out, it had been a good over for England. Back-to-back fours from Tammy Beaumont, who had struck three boundaries in four deliveries following her lbw reprieve.

And then, it all went wrong. Beaumont will want a big partnership with Heather Knight now.

Frustrating that for Amy Jones and England. Hopefully, Tammy Beaumont doesn't think too much about it. A little bit of misjudgement from Beaumont. But that was poor. Amy Jones, yes, she has faced a couple of dots, but she has hit a couple of balls from the middle of the bat.

    Dear me.

Despite playing the ball straight to Kavisha Dilhari at cover, Tammy Beaumont sets off for a single. Amy Jones is caught on her heels and is run out by a direct hit.

    Calamitous.

The thing with Prabodhani is that even if you time the ball, it's not coming off the bat with much pace. She is a niggly bowler.

  13. Eng 16-0published at 3 overs

A calmer over after the boundaries, misfields, and overturned lbw of the previous two.

Amy Jones takes two off the opening delivery and then plays out five dot balls against Udeshika Prabodhani, picking out the fielder at mid-on three times.

If England can win these two games and go into the crunch matches against India and Australia, I'd say they would be in good spirits.

  15. Eng 14-0published at 2 overs

Well, an early reprieve for Tammy Beaumont and she responds by driving Sugandika Dasanayaka into the off-side for four.

I think this is out. The history of the umpires in this tournament, you are probably going to review it. The umpiring has not been good, and is it clipping it or going down because there was no bat involved.

  19. England reviewpublished at 1.5 overs

Tammy Beaumont has been given out lbw.

She had a long chat with Amy Jones before sending it upstairs.

Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones are having a chat in the middle about what the ball is doing, if it is doing anything at all.
