Absolutely superb catch, one of the rare occasions where Brook had middled it, beautiful diving catch.

If it was caught by an Englishman the crowd would have gone wild.

    Brilliant catch!

Harry Brook has been chancing his arm all morning but his luck has just run out.

He absolutely nails a drive into the covers, it goes like a rocket but in the air and Kamindu Mendis dives to his right to take a stunner.

Fabulous grab to give Milan Rathnayake his second wicket of the innings.

  6. Eng 261-3published at 52 overs

The runs continue to flow for England despite favourable bowling conditions.

He only gets two for it after a good half-stop in the covers.

Chandimal didn't see that one coming but what a beauty from Fernando.

  8. Eng 252-3published at 51.1 overs

Ripper to start the over from Asitha Fernando.

Harry Brook is beaten all ends up.

  9. End of the powerplay over in Irelandpublished at 10 overs

    Ireland 39-2

England picked up a couple of early wickets, with both openers falling cheaply. One of those was skipper Gaby Lewis who may have been regretting her decision to bat first.

But Amy Hunter and Orla Prendergast have set about re-building the Ireland innings nicely. Time for debutant spinner Hannah Baker to have a bowl.

The lights are on but it seems brighter than yesterday.

  11. Eng 252-3published at 51 overs

Big appeal from Sri Lanka as the ball goes between Ollie Pope's bat and pad, through to Dinesh Chandimal behind the stumps.

Was there an inside edge? Close to lbw? Umpire Wilson thinks not on both counts and the visiting side decide against reviewing.

Good decision, replays show there was no bat involved and ball-tracking confirms it was missing the stumps as well.

Pope's looking to up the ante this morning. Yesterday, he attacked just under half (49%) of the deliveries bowled to him, scoring at a run a ball - so far today, he's gone after 66% of deliveries, but his scoring rate has stayed broadly the same (6.3rpo).

Ollie Pope definitely likes that shot when he's feeling confident.

  14. Eng 249-3published at 50 overs

    Shot!

Ollie Pope whips the ball through mid-wicket sumptuously again.

No skip down the track this time just a flick of the wrists to send the ball rocketing to the boundary.

  15. Eng 245-3published at 49 overs

The ball is still doing a bit for the bowlers but the England batters are starting to settle.

They're still having to remain slightly watchful but there are just a few signs that they're finding it a tad easier.

Matthew Stadlen: Harry Brook is at risk of throwing away his talent. He’s slogging. He’s far too good for this.

  20. Eng 239-3published at 48 overs

Tidy over again from Asitha Fernando and it starts with another delivery to beat the bat.

This one bounced a bit as well as moving away from Ollie Pope.

Even with Sri Lanka putting a bit of pressure on England get four from the over.
