Right. Here we go. New Zealand need 325 runs from 44 overs.

A victory for India will send them through to the semi-finals and eliminate New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer are opening the batting for New Zealand. Renuka Singh will open the bowling for India.

India have to remember to not be complacent here. They have to know that it is not finished until the last ball is bowled.

The umpires have had a chat with the captains.

The India players are huddled. Suzie Bates is doing some stretches.

Play will restart at 15:55 BST. New Zealand are chasing 325 in 44 overs (we think).

I'm typing this with some reluctance... it's raining again and covers are being brought back on.

  7. 'I am happy to end of a good note'published at 15:28 BST

India's Pratika Rawal: "I am very happy with the way our team has begun.

"I want to bat as much as I can so to bat for longer today is great.

"I was struggling at the start to middle the ball but I am happy that we ended on a good note."

Dot, two, four, single, wicket, four.

And that's the end of India's innings. The batters run from the field.

That is not the greatest ball Rosemary Mair has bowled. A good catch from Eden Carson however and Harmanpreet Kaur is not happy.

The outfield looks much slower than it did earlier because of the rain.

Dropped catch - Rodrigues on 71published at 48.3 overs

Jemimah Rodrigues showcases her intent from ball one of the final over, stepping across to try and slog Rosemary Mair. She fails to connect cleanly and ends up on her back.

She takes two off the next ball and is then dropped in the deep by Maddy Green, with the ball rolling into the rope for four.

    Aaaaaand we're back!

Rosemary Mair will bowl the final over of India's innings.

T-minus five minutes until we're back underway in Navi Mumbai.

India are 329-2 after 48 overs, with Jemimah Rodrigues on 69 (51) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur on 10 (10).

India will bat for one more over in this rain-reduced 49-over-per-side game. Then there'll be a 10-minute innings break before New Zealand start their chase.

You imagine Rodrigues and Kaur will swing for the hills for these six deliveries.

    Stumped

On this week's Stumped, with Alison Mitchell, Matt Clinch and Charu Sharma, we take a closer look at how climate change affects cricket.

England batter Maia Bouchier tells us about the physical and mental effects of extreme heat; that's after she contributed to a recent report which warns that players at all levels of the game across the globe are being placed at increasing risk due to playing in extreme conditions.

They discuss the latest from the Women's World Cup and ask what can be done to mitigate the weather after a number of games were washed out in Sri Lanka.

    Thanks Mike.

They're doing quite a good clean-up job. Several areas on the boundary were underwater a few minutes ago but it's looking pretty dry now.

More positive news - all the covers have been taken off now bar the one on the square.

Hopefully that's a sign we'll get back on time at 15:20 BST.

I'm going to hand you over to Elizabeth Botcherby.

    Hmm, OK.

So we've got a restart time - 15:20 BST, with India bafflingly coming back to bat one of their two remaining overs in a 49-over game.

However, it is raining again and the covers, which were half off the field, appear to be being moving around again.
