It's been great from Smith, not allowing India to settle or get comfortable. More of the same is needed to not become too predictable at the end of the innings.

You will want to keep your seamers for the death. But can he bring Ellis in just for one more over?

It's not a big worry at the moment but it has been six overs without a boundary.

Just keep an eye on it.

  3. Ind 200-4published at 40 overs

    Target 265

A couple of singles off Ben Dwarshuis brings up India's 200.

They're not in a hurry at the moment.

If Kohli is in, then India win. Simple as.

    67 needed from 66 balls.

It should be straightforward. Will there be another twist?

It was time for Australia to go back to Connolly or Dwarshuis because Ellis and Zampa are running out of overs.

India are trying to play risk-free cricket, while Australia are trying to induce a mistake.

  7. Aus 192-4published at 38 overs

    Target 265

Five runs ticked off Cooper Connolly's latest.

    Australia need another breakthrough.

Australia need to get this run-rate required above six an over. Then you start to put pressure on those who are still waiting to come in to bat.

You want batters to come in feeling as though they have to take a risk. Australia need to do it on their own terms.

  9. Ind 187-4published at 37 overs

    Target 265

A run-a-ball required now for India.

Australia need to find a way of putting pressure on KL Rahul. Mid-on is just lurking outside the circle. They are trying to get him to play against the turn, hoping something will just hold up in the wicket.

They have to get Kohli out though, but he is just toying with Australia at the minute.

  11. Ind 183-4published at 36 overs

    Target 265

A big breakthrough for Australia but India still have plenty of experience to come.

KL Rahul joins Kohli, with Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya still in the dugout.

That wicket increased Australia's chances of victory by 9%. It remains India's game to lose now though.

Brilliant from Ellis targeting off stump. Every coach tells you that's where you need to target.

It's brilliant from Steve Smith as well to bring Ellis on even though he hasn't played that much cricket lately. A huge moment for Australia.

That's the moment Australia were looking for. Just when you think India are coasting, Australia are back in.

Steve Smith turns back to Nathan Ellis and he delivers!

Just back of a length, misjudged by Axar Patel as he tries to play the pull shot but it skids through and takes off stump.

A roar of delight from Ellis and Australia have a way back in.

Australia have got to find a way of building pressure here. They need to keep Kohli off strike to starve him of runs.

I would be tempted to bring mid-on up inside the circle against Axar Patel and try to turn the ball away from the left-hander.

  17. Ind 175-3published at 34 overs

    Shot!

Axar Patel makes the most of some width from Maxwell, and slashes away for another boundary.

The game's drifting from Australia, and Kohli is in command. He's only played 7% false shots so far in this innings - that's half the average for Test cricket.

This is the seventh bowler that Steve Smith has used. He's mixing and matching which is the best way to go about things.

That way you are able to get a better feel for what combinations are working on this surface.

He must've heard you, Andrew, but it doesn't provide the breakthrough.

Six singles are worked off the over with ease.
