Liam Dawson quickened that pace and Rovman Powell went on to the back foot and it skidded on to hit the stumps.

West Indies need 73 runs from 36 balls

A single and a dot to finish an eventful over.

Brilliant from Liam Dawson. He has got on to scoot, grip a little and hit the stumps.

  4. wicket

    Powell b Dawson 13 (WI 115-6)

Rovman Powell hits Liam Dawson for two boundaries but it's the spinner who has the last laugh.

A quicker ball goes right through Powell and his off-stump rocks back. Four wickets. Thank you. Next.

Here comes Liam Dawson to bowl his final over.

Powell and Russell have both ditched helmets for caps. A new bat grip has been applied. Here we go.

Surprise to no one apart from the England selectors that the best English spinner for the last few years is doing the business.

Liam Dawson has a good cricket brain. It seems that way when he bowls. He's a smart cricketer.

Liam Dawson will take playing for his country any day but coming back after a bit of a hiatus he's been confident and known his game plan. He's varied his pace well. He has done everything you could have asked for. Normally we give Adil Rashid the praise but Dawson has really stood up.

  9. WI 107-5published at 13 overs

West Indies need 82 runs from 42 balls

I, a right-hander, once tried to serve a tennis ball left-handed. Truly disastrous.

Adil Rashid rattles through his third over and concedes six runs.

Matthew Henry mentioned about Dawson bowling lefty, but throwing righty. Samit Patel does that too (as in the former Notts and England all-rounder). I think Jack Leach does it too.

They do say that spinners mature at different ages, especially young spinners who have to learn their craft. You think of someone like Greame Swann. Liam Dawson has learned his craft and now is his time.

Liam Dawson has been very impressive!

  13. WI 101-5published at 12 overs

West Indies need 88 runs from 48 balls

Andre Russell, carded at nine, comes in at seven to try and rescue West Indies alongside the cap-clad Rovman Powell.

The required rate is above 11 and wicket machine Liam Dawson still has one over to bowl.

A big wicket that but there's plenty to come and England still need to show some control. Liam Dawson is the key man. It was the right shot but the pace that Dawson is bowling it's hard to do that. He's bowling well on his international comeback.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.3 overs

    Chase c Duckett b Dawson 24 (WI 100-5)

    Dawson and Duckett combine again!

There might be a few England selectors looking a little awkward right now. Just the three wickets so far for Dawson.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.1 overs

    Rutherford c Duckett b Dawson 2 (WI 97-4)

Liam Dawson has his second wicket and after his excellent fielding off the previous ball, it's Ben Duckett who pops up with the catch, sliding Brydon Carse-style to get under the ball.

    Sherfane Rutherford departs for two.

This is Adil Rashid's 32nd T20I since the start of 2023, only once in that timeframe has he bowled three overs in the final 10 of the innings as he could today - that came in the T20 World Cup against today's opponents.

Liam Dawson is one of those bizarre humans that bowls with his left arm and throws with his right.

  20. WI 97-3published at 11 overs

West Indies need 92 runs off 54 balls

Excellent effort from Ben Duckett to stop a boundary!

Roston Chase goes for the reverse sweep and while he doesn't get the desired connection, the ball is racing away towards the rope. The diminutive Duckett races after it, puts in a full-length dive and snatches the ball away from the rope with his left hand.
