Great character shown by Jacob Bethell, but West Indies are right in this game now. Its back to a 50-50 scenario now.

I feel like Brydon Carse got Jacob Bethell out of a bit of hole there. He did a good job with one that was an awkward height and he did well to get both hands to it.

Muted celebrations from Jacob Bethell. His over cost 24 runs but he finishes with the important wicket of Evin Lewis, who was just beginning to fly on 39 (23).

It's a good catch from Brydon Carse in the deep, running in off the boundary and taking it on the slide.

Liam Dawson had a word with Jacob Bethell which is good from a senior player. West Indies are having a bit more of a go here.

Jacob Bethell is under a bit of pressure here.

  7. 6 runs

    WI 91-2published at 9.5 overs

A wide and then six more! Evin Lewis is really getting into his rhythm now.

There was a conversation which took place between Evin Lewis and Roston Chase at the end of the last over. It was probably "we need to get on with this" and they seem to be doing just that. West Indies are fighting their way back in by targeting Jacob Bethell.

  9. WI 84-2published at 9.4 overs

    Four more!

  10. 6 runs

    WI 80-2published at 9.3 overs

Evin Lewis is going after Jacob Bethell! A big old swing and the ball sails over long-on.

  11. WI 73-2published at 9.1 overs

In comes Jacob Bethell and he opens with back-to-back wides. At the third attempt... Roston Chase guides the ball fine for four.

    Target 189

Every Matthew Potts over is a real lucky dip.

His first two balls go for 10; his next four for just three, although there is another wide as he continues to struggle with his line.

Pace doesn't seem to work as well on this pitch. The batters can just help the ball on its way.

Matthew Potts will want to charge in. He's bowled some good variations, but with a little bit of pace on it Evin Lewis has connected well.

That's more like! Evin Lewis tonks the ball into the stands. The fielder on the rope didn't even jump.

  16. WI 54-2published at 8 overs

    Target 189

Roston Chase, sweeping, picks up a much-needed four for West Indies.

The required rate is climbing up towards 11 an over for West Indies. They are going to have to get a move on.

  18. WI 47-2published at 7 overs

    Target 189

Adil Rashid comes into the attack and does as Adil Rashid does, twice fooling Evin Lewis with his googly.

Three runs off the over, including a leg bye which the umpire signals with a jazz-hand wave.

All of us sensible armchair critics who’ve been calling for Liam Dawson for years now are feeling pretty, pretty smug at the moment.

England have done very well with spin in their armoury. Their seam bowlers are reading the wicket pretty well, too.
