Southern Brave captain James Vince speaking on Sky Sports: "A good performance and more comfortable than our win at Old Trafford.

"The wicket didn't play as well as it looked. It was a good toss to win. Without the scoreboard pressure we picked up what we could and got it done in a scrappy fashion."

On their bowling attack: "We have kept the core group together. James Coles has had a great year so he is really reliable with the ball. Bracewell too. It is nice options to have as a captain.

"There are really good players not playing but we need different players at different times. It is a privilege to have such a strong team."

On Jofra Archer: "I only had to give him one instruction, to only bowl one bouncer per set. He is happy to do anything so he is easy to captain."

  3. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 10 August

Southern Brave spinner Michael Bracewell speaking on Sky Sports: "We had a bit more of a complete performance today. We played some real cricket so it is nice to get another win. We spoke about a spin group me and James Coles and about bowling into the wicket."

On the support: "It is fantastic. The crowd are amazing and we have some hometown support over here which helps. There is a great buzz and a long history of cricket here in England so it's nice to be here."

On the England conditions: "It is what I was expecting coming over! We are really happy with the result."

Birmingham Phoenix came second a long time ago. They look short of confidence and not sure of what direction they want to go in.

Brave were smart with bat and ball. The wicket does offer something if you bowl well but it is a good place to score runs. Jason Roy and Leus du Plooy will be delighted.

  8. Brave win by nine wicketspublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 10 August
    Breaking

Four! Leus du Plooy deservedly hits the winning runs and finishes unbeaten on 48 (39).

Southern Brave have won by nine wickets with 19 balls to spare. They're unbeaten after two matches.

As for Birmingham Phoenix, they're still searching for their first win and who knows where it will come from. Their batting line-up isn't working and their bowling attack is looking a little toothless.

Leus du Plooy sprays the ball high into the air but it lands safely. He runs a single.

Two to win for Southern Brave. 20 balls to get there.

Jason Roy walloped that into the leg-side. He has been here many times before, he has played in and won everything.

He wanted to win it with that ball.

  11. Brave 104-1published at 22 balls

    Need three runs to win

Jason Roy jogs a single. Three to win.

    Job done for Northern Superchargers.

They have their second straight win to start this year's tournament and they were dominant again.

Davina Perrin finishes unbeaten on 72 from 40 balls as Superchargers overhaul Trent Rockets' 128-8 with 21 balls to spare.

The Rockets had fallen to 5-3 before captain Ash Gardner hit 61 from 32 balls to take them to a more respectable total.

It still proven hugely insufficient, though, as Superchargers cruise to victory.

  13. Brave 103-1published at 23 balls

    Need four runs to win

Jason Roy is in a hurry. Four into the leg-side.

That was not a good ball. Too flat into the pitch from Jacob Bethell and Jason Roy just had to lean back.

Once it passed extra cover, you knew it was four.

  16. Brave 99-1published at 25 balls

    Need eight runs to win

Liam Livingstone turns to Jacob Bethell for his first five balls of the day.

    It's a bit of a nothing set.

Leus du Plooy runs three off the first two deliveries and Jason Roy drives through the covers for four before reverse sweeping the final ball for another two.

    Michael Carberry
Former England batter on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Jason Roy stood really still, good balance. It wasn't a bad ball from Tim Southee but good cricket shots are all you need here.

  18. Brave 90-1published at 30 balls

    Need 17 runs to win

Jason Roy finishes the set with a boundary of his own, dispatching Tim Southee through the covers. Nicely timed.

  19. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 10 August

    Michael Carberry
Former England batter on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Birmingham Phoenix need to build some dot balls, that is the best they can ask for. It is hard to see where any wickets are coming from.

  20. Brave 85-1published at 32 balls

    Need 22 runs to win

Boos ripple around the ground as Leus du Plooy's shot is adjudged a four rather than a six. He walloped Tim Southee over cover but it dropped just short of the boundary sponge.
