Jordan Cox has been absolutely brutal with pull and hook shots against pacers in this competition. Off 27 such shots, he has scored 90 runs at a strike rate of 333, 44 more runs than the next-placed batter (Jonny Bairstow).

Just a couple of singles to end the set from Luke Wood.

Good start for the Invincibles but there has been the odd bit to encourage the bowlers.

  3. 6 runs

    Six more!

On the hip from Luke Wood and Will Jacks just flicks it over fine leg for another maximum.

I thought the shot before was a decent shot, but that has gone miles.

Jordan Cox is not hanging around tonight.

  5. 6 runs

Invincibles 15-1published at 90 balls left

    Target 153

New batter Jordan Cox with the supreme timing now, first for four and then for an enormous six!

Each time he is waiting for the back of a length delivery from Richard Gleeson and after flaying the first through mid-wicket, he clubs the next high over the leg side.

Ashton Turner with the safe hands. Tawanda Muyeye can't believe his luck. He is gone first ball, and he found the fielder perfectly on the boundary.

Middled... straight to the man at long leg!

So much to like about that shot from Tawanda Muyeye, apart from the outcome.

He picks up the length of the short ball from Richard Gleeson, nails it behind square and it looks six for all the world.

But he's picked out the man in the deep, Ashton Turner, perfectly.

A couple of dots to start, but Will Jacks is into his work now.

It is going to be hard for the London Spirit to defend this powerplay.

  9. Invincibles 5-0published at 95 balls left

    Target 153

Oval Invincibles are up and running with a boundary from Will Jacks.

Flogged over the leg side. Not out of the middle but he gets enough on it.

He's beaten by Luke Wood next up and there is definitely some lateral movement for the seamer early on.

It feels like all the tournament momentum is with Oval Invincibles. Hopefully, London Spirit's bowlers can do a job now.

    Here come the teams then.

Can London Spirit get a grip on this formidable Oval Invincibles batting line-up?

Will Jacks and Tawanda Muyeye are the openers. Luke Wood will bowl the first five for Spirit...

It was getting pretty tetchy late in the innings as well with Sam Curran and Jamie Overton getting into it.

I guess it shouldn't be too much of a surprise, it is a London derby after all.

That's why, although Spirit have been eliminated, they'll keen to stop Invincibles going straight through to the final...

Chathli and Redmayne lead Spirit to victory over Invincibles to boost knockout hopes

In the womens game earlier, London Spirit bolstered their hopes of reaching the knockout stages with a crushing eight-wicket win over city rivals Oval Invincibles.

Victory was built on an outstanding display with the ball and in the field with captain Charlie Dean and seamer Eva Gray the standouts, both taking 2-12.

The already-eliminated Invincibles limped to 108-8 from their 100 balls before Kira Chathli (53 off 29 balls) and Georgia Redmayne (42 off 30) powered Spirit to the win with 38 balls remaining.

Watch the best of the action above.

  14. 'Very confident'published at 19:59 British Summer Time 25 August

    Oval Invincibles

Oval Invincibles' Nathan Sowter, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is a nice wicket. It does feel a bit shorter bowling from this end and hopefully we can chase these down.

"I have tried to concentrate ball by ball in the last few games. Tom Moody [Oval Invincibles' head coach] has been direct with me to say, 'hit the stumps'.

"Very confident - the batters have shown throughout the tournament if you give yourself a chance at the Oval you can catch up quite quickly."

    Thanks, Matt.

Well, they managed to drag that innings out at the end, didn't they?!

At the end of it all, Oval Invincibles need 153 to win and go a long way to booking their place in Sunday's final at Lord's.

The home side would have hoped to be chasing a few less at 88-5 but Jamie Overton and Ryan Higgins put on 54 in quick time to take London Spirit up to a more competitive total.

More competitive but given how Invincibles have batted this year, it would be a brave call to say they won't knock these off...

Will that be enough for Spirit to upset the odds? I'm guessing not.

Sam Drury will take you to the finish.

Donovan Ferreira thought it was six off the bat.

He nonchalantly ran late on the boundary. That time he was slow to move and got caught out late.

I think it is game on if London Spirit get early wickets.

  19. Interval - Spirit 152-7published at 100 balls

Four off the last... somehow. That was an absolute mess.

After the run-out confusion, Liam Dawson has to face the final ball and he swings it high to the leg side. It should have been stopped by Donovan Ferreira but he makes a meal of slapping it back onto the field.

Bowler Tom Curran isn't impressed. Spirit take some momentum.
